About the job

Ceder Allé seeks a social and health care assistant – is that you?

Are you our new colleague in the primarily evening shift?

Ceder Allé, seeking you who would like to become part of a strong community where we every day work to create security, presence and good moments for people with dementia .

Welcome to Ceder Allé

Ceder Allé is one of five departments at Skovvang – Aarhus Municipality's only specialized nursing home for people with dementia.

With us, people with moderate to severe dementia live, and that requires something special from us as employees.

We must be good at seeing the person behind the dementia, be curious about behavior and find new ways when what we usually do does not work.

We call ourselves dementia nerds because we genuinely care about our profession and the people we work with.

When the day comes to an end

As an evening shift at Ceder Allé you have a very special role.

You help create a calm and secure transition from day to evening and onward into the night. It can be a cozy chat, music in the common room, a cup of coffee, a walk in the garden or simply being close to a person who needs calm and presence.

For us, the evening shift is not only about accomplishing tasks. It is about creating good evenings.

We work from person-centered care and believe that relationship comes before task.

Therefore we are curious about

Who is our resident?

What does the life history tell us?

What makes sense for exactly this resident?

And how can we make the evening a little better?

You will become part of a community

At Ceder Allé we work closely together and help each other when everyday life becomes complex.

We believe that we become better when we dare to ask each other for advice, share our experiences and be curious together.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead, we hope you come with a desire to learn, engage and contribute to our community.

We are looking for you who

  • are educated as a social and health care assistant
  • want to work with people with dementia
  • meet residents with warmth, respect and curiosity
  • can maintain calm, even when situations become complex
  • are good at observing and responding to changes in residents
  • can work independently, but at the same time know when it is important to reach out to a colleague
  • are professionally curious and eager to develop
  • can collaborate with both colleagues and relatives
  • have an eye for documentation and professional observations as an important part of our work
  • want to help create homeliness, life and joy – also in the evening.

Why Ceder Allé?

Because you get the opportunity to work in a specialized dementia environment, where professionalism and humanity go hand in hand.

We have big professional ambitions, but we also believe that a good working day should include smiles, humor, community and room to be human.

At Skovvang we have, among other things, a large communal garden where residents can walk and stay in safe surroundings. Everyday life also includes music, activities, communal dining, visits from our visiting dog and many other experiences.

We work purposefully with psychological safety, job satisfaction and community.

For us it is important that you as an employee feel that your voice is heard, and that you dare to be curious, ask questions and bring your ideas.

A good start matters

When you start with us, you are not thrown into the deep end.

We have a large introduction program, where you among other things are introduced to person-centered care, dementia, medication management, nutrition and dysphagia, documentation, conflict management, work environment and our various systems and workflows.

In addition, you will receive an introduction to Ceder Allé, where you will get to know your new colleagues, the residents and daily life on the department.

We also offer supervision and professional sparring because we believe that we learn the most when we learn together.

Maybe you’re the one we’re missing?

If you can see yourself in a job where relationships, professionalism, humor and humanity go hand in hand, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that the position falls within the around-the-clock area. At present, the service is expected to be primarily in the evening shift. The position is 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or as agreed.
