About the job

  • Set direction for holistic care, close health services and a strong cross-disciplinary organization near citizens' everyday lives

In Home Care and Nursing we put people first. We step into where life is lived, in the citizen's home and daily life, and work so that the individual can live as independently, meaningfully and with dignity as possible. We are seeking an experienced center leader who can create coherence between people, operations and development and lead the continued development of a large and complex area.

Do you have in-depth knowledge of the elderly and health sector, strong strategic leadership experience and an eye for both professional quality, economy and organization? Can you develop leaders, create followership and translate political ambitions, reforms and legislation into practice close to citizens? Then you may be our new center leader for Home Care and Nursing in Aabenraa Municipality.

A large citizen-facing area in development

Home Care and Nursing delivers holistic care, nursing, personal care and practical help to citizens in their own homes. The area is organized into 12 districts and 25 cross-disciplinary teams with around 570 employees and contact to around 3,900 citizens. Services are delivered around the clock year-round in citizens' homes and at the municipality's nursing and satellite clinics.

Holistic care is implemented, and the overarching strategic framework is in place. Your task will be to further develop the organization, strengthen coherence and ensure that structure, culture and leadership support the core mission. This takes place in a time with new opportunities and demands from the Elderly Act, health reform and the development of close health care.

Strategic leadership, leadership of leaders and shared responsibility

As center leader you have the overall responsibility for the strategic direction and long-term development. You lead the district leader group and work closely with the cross-cutting district leader, who is responsible for quality and the health professional development and operations. Together you must ensure coherence between strategy, professional quality and daily task execution.

Home Care and Nursing is built on decentralized leadership and substantial leadership latitude. The leadership group works with shared leadership, trust, involvement and shared responsibility. You must therefore both set a clear direction and succeed through others by delegating, developing strong leadership communities and creating frames for learning, reflection and feedback.

Quality, economy and future solutions

You have the overall responsibility for the center's economy and must be able to translate financial frameworks into strategic priorities with a view to operational reliability and long-term sustainability. You must also support high professional quality, patient safety and coherent citizen pathways, as well as work on recruitment, retention, well-being and sustainable working life.

Welfare technology is a strategic focus area. Home Care and Nursing works, among other things, with screen visits, medicine robots and new digital possibilities. The implementation of Care Homes in the own home is also underway, and you will play an important role in the further development and anchoring of the effort.

Cross-collaboration

You will be part of the Senior Area and will collaborate closely with center leadership colleagues, the Education Department and the rest of the administration.

Externally you must strengthen relationships and solutions across the region, hospitals and general practice. You must be able to create coherence between political ambitions, professional quality, economic priorities and practice and be a clear ambassador for Home Care and Nursing.

Your leadership profile

We imagine you have

  • a health care professional background
  • solid leadership experience from the elderly, health or welfare sector
  • experience with leading leaders
  • in-depth knowledge of the elderly sector and the close health system
  • experience with strategic leadership in a politically governed organization
  • solid experience with economy and resource management as well as organizational development
  • experience with implementation of holistic care, rehabilitation and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • experience with implementation of larger changes and development of leaders and leadership groups
  • insight into quality development, patient safety and coherent citizen pathways.

Your personal competences

We are looking for a center leader who is

  • Visionary – you create and communicate a clear direction and translate visions into something concrete and meaningful.
  • Optimistic - you meet people and challenges with energy, belief in possibilities and a desire to find solutions together.
  • Strategic analytical - you see the long lines, analyze complex issues and translate them into clear priorities.
  • Delegating - you develop others through responsibility, trust and clear expectations and are motivated by succeeding through your leaders.
  • Clear and guiding in your leadership - you create momentum, align different interests around common goals and make necessary decisions.
  • Communicating and visible - you create meaning and engagement in dialogue with leaders, staff, citizens, relatives and partners.

We offer

  • a central leadership role in an area with great importance for citizens' everyday life and for the development of close welfare
  • opportunity to set strategic direction for holistic care and close health care in a time of great change
  • an engaged leadership organization where trust, co-leadership and shared responsibility are practiced
  • close collaboration with the cross-cutting district leader, the Senior Area and competent colleagues across Social & Health
  • a leadership position in Aabenraa Municipality with a clear leadership foundation and substantial decentralized leadership latitude
  • mentor program.
