FGU FYN is seeking an FGU teacher for the subject area Construction, housing and infrastructure for the school in Odense.

FGU FYN is an education with three tracks, General Basic Education (AGU), Production Basic Education (PGU) and an Apprenticeship Basic Education (EGU). Our mission is: ”we offer preparatory basic educations and create meaningful pathways toward education and work for young people under 25.”

The institution consists of five schools located in the municipalities Assens, Kerteminde, Nordfyn, Nyborg and Odense as well as the Shared Administration, which is located at the Odense school.

We work from FGU's holistic principle, which forms the foundation for the students' learning, where we combine practical work with integrated theory. The goal is to make the abstract tangible and create a meaningful learning environment where students experience mastery, success and academic pride.

We are seeking a professionally grounded carpenter/joiner for our subject area Construction, housing and infrastructure. You will teach/instruct in various trades within carpentry/joinery. You will undertake small productions in the school's carpentry workshop. You should communicate and embrace broadly with regard to the young people.

You will be employed in FGU FYN and your workplace will be physically located at the Odense school.

Profile

• Are a skilled craftsman with a natural pedagogical understanding with solid practical experience.
• Can create a structured, predictable and safe workshop environment, where there is room to breathe but fixed frameworks so the young can find calm and progression.
• Can function as an authentic role model who supports the students in developing personal and social skills such as collaboration, conflict management and self-leadership.
• Are familiar with IT tools for documentation and recording the students' progression.
• Participate in a close and equal partnership with your colleagues, where you brainstorm about everything from daily operations to student progression, tests and didactic measures.

The position

You are offered a full-time position. It is a versatile role where you contribute to planning the tasks yourself.

Employment terms

The position is salaried according to the Common Collective Agreement/ agreement between the Ministry of Finance and LC - OK, as well as the organizational agreement between the Ministry of Finance and FGU Teachers: https://uddannelsesforbundet.dk/overenskomst-fgu .

Start: 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.
