About the job

Do you have strong analytical abilities, good business understanding, and would you like to help bridge the gap between business and IT? Then this may be you we are looking for.

The Tax Administration is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation of the data and analytics area, where new interfaces and collaborations across the agencies in the group must be created. We are therefore seeking a generalist who can help translate strategic decisions into concrete actions and ensure progress in complex projects.

We are in the process of a large and strategically important migration of our data warehouse from an on-premise solution to the cloud, which requires close coordination and a sharp focus on the business needs. The Data & Innovation Office therefore seeks a generalist for the role of Business Analyst, who can map, structure and communicate business requirements, so we ensure full business continuity and a stable operation during and after the migration.

Your role will be the link between business and IT. You must navigate a complex, politically governed organization with many stakeholders and ensure progress in the transformation.

Coordination, needs assessment and business maturation

The Data and Innovation team is among other things responsible for coordinating the Tax Administration’s work with the data domain, assessing the potentials of implementing artificial intelligence, and creating the framework for the development of smaller IT solutions internally within the agency.

In this position you will have a key role in the cloud transformation work, where you will be part of the team that handles the task of migrating the existing data warehouse to a cloud platform. Your task will not be to code or build the platform itself, but rather to uncover and structure the business needs so they are properly incorporated into the future solutions. You do this by creating dialogue across the Tax Administration and the group, and communicating business considerations that ensure meaningful IT development.

An essential part of your success in the role will be a close and coordinating collaboration with the Agency for Development and Simplification, which is the driving force behind the development and operation of IT systems. You will therefore function as the natural link between the Tax Administration’s business needs and the technical units that will bring the transformation to life, so we together ensure an effective and decentralized use of data.

Your tasks

As part of Data & Innovation you will among other things

  • Translate business needs into clear frameworks and requirements that the technical teams can work from.
  • Support the migration from on-prem to cloud with a focus on risk minimization, change management and secure adoption.
  • Uncover business needs through dialogue, interviews and workshops with data analysts and business units.
  • Develop governance and processes that support compliance, data quality and good principles in the new environment.
  • Prepare sharp decision proposals and material packs for management that provide an overview of the transformation’s progress.

You must be able to keep a cool head when there is pressure, while at the same time be proactive, curious and good at building relationships. We are looking for a profile that dares to ask the difficult, clarifying questions and succeeds in building consensus among many different stakeholders.

Your profile

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant education, e.g., within IT, data or business strategy - e.g., from ITU or CBS.
  • Are a recent graduate or have a couple of years of experience with digitalization, IT projects, process mapping or analysis work.
  • Possess a curiosity and desire to dive deeply into complex problems. You have a sense for detail and are motivated by understanding processes and data areas to the bottom.
  • Have a natural interest in data and digital solutions. You do not need to be a developer, but you should be keen to understand the cloud landscape and data structures well enough to spar with technical specialists.
  • Are strong in your written and spoken communication and can translate complex topics into easily understandable business language (and vice versa).
  • Thrive in planning and leading workshops and meetings across disciplines.
