About the job

Do you want to lead an important citizen-centered health service and help shape the future of the local health care?

Here you will have the opportunity to combine leadership of staff, professional quality and operation with the development of community-based health services. You will become part of a new department with ambitions to create more cohesive care pathways for citizens with complex health needs.

We are seeking an experienced nursing leader who can provide direction, followership and results. A leader who treats people with respect and decency, but who also dares to set requirements, make decisions and take responsibility for both staff, quality and operations, and who works according to the Region's ITOP values (Influence, Trust, Openness/Integrity and Professionalism).

The position requires a leader who can ensure stable operations, create followership among staff and actively contribute to strengthening the role of Health and Care Places in the local health system.

About the position

As Chief Nursing Officer you will have the professional, personnel and operational responsibility for the Health and Care Places in Støvring.

As of January 1, 2027, 12 health and care places will transfer to Aalborg University Hospital and become part of the Department for Community-Centered Health. Here, observation, treatment, care, rehabilitation and coordination are offered to citizens with complex health needs, where cross-sector collaboration is essential for a coherent pathway.

The offering is based on a rehabilitative approach with a focus on the citizen's resources and abilities to cope. Nursing takes its starting point in Fundamentals of Care (FoC) as the conceptual framework and works purposefully to integrate the citizen's physical, psychological and relational needs into care and treatment.

You will become part of the management team in the Department for Community-Centered Health and will play a central role in collaboration with Rebild Municipality, general practice and the hospital's other departments.

You will be responsible for a dedicated workforce with high professional standards. An important leadership task will be to support a strong professional environment where collaboration, competence development, trust and shared responsibility are the foundation for performing tasks.

A key part of the assignment will be to build strong relationships and ensure cohesive pathways for citizens through close collaboration with Rebild Municipality, general practice and the hospital's other departments.

The tasks include, among others

  • provide direction, followership and a culture characterized by high professionalism, interdisciplinary collaboration, accountability and mutual trust
  • develop and maintain high professional quality and patient safety
  • ensure attractive learning and development environments for staff
  • support well-being, job satisfaction and a good working environment
  • secure coherent citizen pathways across sectors
  • create balance between quality, activity, working environment and resources
  • actively contribute to the development of Health and Care Places and the Department for Community-Centered Health

We are looking for a leader who

  • has authorization as a nurse and experience with leadership
  • is motivated by achieving results through others and has experience in setting direction, creating followership and ensuring that decisions are translated into action
  • can balance consideration for staff, quality, operations and partners, even when the task is complex and interests are many
  • builds trust through presence, clarity and decency and has the courage to address challenges, make decisions and stand firm when the situation requires it
  • sees the value in dialogue, collaboration and involvement, but also has the decisive action to create momentum
  • has a leadership education or is prepared to undertake a leadership education
  • can create security through clear leadership, bring people together around common goals and take responsibility for both daily results and long-term development

About the Department for Community-Centered Health

The Department for Community-Centered Health is a new department at Aalborg University Hospital with functions across seven municipalities in the Health Council Limfjord.

We work for a more coherent health system, where citizens experience safe and coordinated pathways across sectors. In close collaboration with municipalities, general practice and the hospital's other departments, we develop new citizen-centered health services that support the objectives of the Health Reform to provide treatment closer to citizens' daily lives.

As a leader you will become part of a department that is still developing, but which also must deliver high quality every day. Therefore we seek leaders who can both develop and operate, build relations and results, and keep focus on what is most important: the citizens and patients.
