As the leader of Child Health and Movement, you will play a crucial role in driving and developing our health visiting service and children’s therapy.

We are focused on ensuring a good start in life for all children, with a focus on wellbeing, development and equal opportunities. In Child Health and Movement we offer professionally relevant guidance to all parents of very young children and insight into the development of the body throughout growing up. At the same time we work with the bodily dimension of the good child and adolescent life, focusing on participation opportunities in positive communities for all children.

We work with standardized tools and systematic approaches, e.g. ICF and SST’s level-based structuring of health visiting interventions, with a focus on a high professional standard in our service profile.

You will lead a dedicated team of 12 health visitors, three physiotherapists and two occupational therapists.

You are not alone, but become part of the overall leadership team in Family and Prevention in the Child, Youth and Culture Administration (BUK) and naturally work across the child and youth sector.

The position – and what we offer you

You report to the Chief of Family and Prevention and are responsible for the department’s tasks, development, management and personnel leadership. With us you can look forward to:

• Influence and room to set professional direction for a task in motion: Together with the staff you will build on the work that has been started and on new initiatives such as group offers, level-based initiatives and consultations at the Nærhospitalet (Nearby Hospital).
• Skilled and engaged staff: You will lead staff who are passionate about their profession and creating good offerings – an department where responsibility, wellbeing and influence on their own workday matter a lot.
• A strong leadership team and cross-cutting collaboration: You will become part of a management team with six other leaders and the Chief of Family and Prevention, where we stand close together and support each other. Together with us you will bring the department into play across administrations and in cooperation with external partners.
• Development as a leader: Whether you have leadership experience or are new to the role, you will have the opportunity to grow as a leader – and you will meet colleagues who are happy to offer sparring and experience.

• Have a relevant professional background within the department’s fields and experience with health promotion, prevention and treatment – as well as experience with leadership or a desire to try your hand at it. You are eager to learn from others and develop together with professionally strong actors.
• Take responsibility and have a sense for making things work – you set clear goals, create coordination and translate decisions into practical solutions.
• Remain calm even when it is busy, and have a good sense of both your own and others’ feelings. You are an accessible leader with a trust-based approach in your leadership style.
• Are independent and flexible – you have your own views and dare to challenge the usual, while being open to new perspectives and able to find your way when conditions change.
• Communicate clearly and thrive on cross-functional collaboration.
• Focus on implementation and are comfortable using data to track how interventions work.

The department consists of 12 health visitors, three physiotherapists and two occupational therapists and is housed at Middelfart Nearby Hospital – close to relevant collaboration partners from the municipality and region, e.g. the local midwifery clinic. Family and Prevention also includes the Family Department, the Family House, the Youth House, Brohuset (Child and Youth Home) and the Dental Service.

We expect to conduct

• 1st interview : 1 December 2026
• 2nd interview : 8 December 2026

Between the interviews a person profile will be prepared, which you will receive feedback on before the 2nd interview. We expect you to start in the position on 1 February 2027. Employment is conditional on obtaining a child and criminal record check. Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement and local salary formation principles.
