About the job

Department Head for Early and Preventive Interventions – Disability and Psychiatry

Do you want to lead a strong professional community where we every day work to ensure that people with disabilities and mental health challenges can live an independent, meaningful and active life on their own terms?

In Early and Preventive Interventions we are seeking a department head who can create direction, development and followership in an organization characterized by high professionalism, commitment and ambitions on behalf of the citizens.

We are looking for a leader who can combine clear leadership with presence and collaboration. A leader who believes that the best solutions are created together with employees, citizens, relatives and partners, and who can translate strategic goals into meaningful practice in daily work.

You will become part of Adults, Disability and Psychiatry in Holbæk Municipality, where we work from a shared view of citizens with focus on resources, hope, self-determination and participation in communities.

About the position

As department head you will be responsible for employees who provide support to citizens in their own homes according to the Social Services Act §§ 82 a/b and 85, as well as employees in activity and social interaction offerings under § 79.

The citizens are people with disabilities and/or mental health challenges who want to live an active and meaningful life with the greatest possible independence. Our interventions are based on each citizen’s wishes, hope, resources and opportunities, and we work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative with a focus on participation, mastery and development.

You will lead a group of employees who are engaged and professionally competent, working from an appreciative and resource-oriented approach.

As department head you must create the professional and organizational frameworks that support employees' work with the citizens. You must ensure high professional quality, well-being and coherence in task execution while contributing to the continued development of the area.

We work, among other things, with

  • further developing group-based interventions
  • implementing digital solutions and screen visits
  • strengthening collaboration with civil society
  • developing citizen involvement and peer-supported activities
  • supporting data-informed and professionally sound practice

The position is 37 hours per week.

A leadership role with influence and development opportunities

You will play a central role in further developing the quality and the professional foundation of Early and Preventive Interventions.

Together with the area manager, the department head colleague and the professional coordinator, you will help translate strategic goals into concrete practice and ensure that our services develop in line with citizens’ needs and the political ambitions in the area.

We are seeking a leader who is curious about development, has an eye for both operations and strategy and who is motivated to achieve results through others.

With us you will have the opportunity to make a clear professional and leadership imprint in an organization where collaboration, involvement and integrity are central values.

We imagine that you

  • have a leadership education or are in the process of completing one
  • have experience with the target group and preferably leadership experience from the social sector
  • can generate followership through clear communication, involvement and direction
  • understand recovery-oriented rehabilitation and citizen involvement
  • can balance a present supervisory style with strategic overview
  • work systematically and can translate goals into action and results
  • provide professional sparring and support employees’ development
  • can handle complex issues with calm, reflection and decisiveness
  • see documentation as an important professional tool for learning, quality and development

You will meet an employee group that wants a leader who is accessible, clear and development-oriented. A leader who listens and involves, but who also dares to make decisions and create direction.

We expect a leader who can identify with Holbæk Municipality's leadership framework

In Holbæk Municipality we believe that good results are created through trust, shared responsibility and strong relationships.

As a leader you are expected to create direction and followership through dialogue, involvement and clear expectations. You must be able to translate political and strategic decisions into concrete practice and at the same time create frameworks where employees can succeed with the core task.

We expect that you

  • take responsibility for both results, people and collaboration
  • work in a trust-based and inclusive manner
  • support professional reflection, learning and development
  • have the courage to make decisions and stand firm when necessary
  • create collaboration across professional areas, departments and organizations
  • actively contribute to the overall leadership community in Adults, Disability and Psychiatry
