About the job

Head of Department for Planning, Urban Development and Climate

Do you want to set the direction for a municipality in mass growth? Can you make urban development, business and climate play together? And do you thrive where political ambitions have to be translated into visible results? Then you may be the new Head of Department for Planning, Business and Climate?

Frederikssund shines with development potential. Vinge is emerging as one of Denmark's largest urban development projects, just as large infrastructure and supply projects take shape in a growing municipality that includes four main towns, 24 villages and Roskilde Fjord. As Head of Department for Planning, Business and Climate you will play a central role in creating direction, further development and growth.

You will lead a well-functioning department with about 17 professionally strong employees in planning, GIS, climate, business and tourism. You must combine safe exercise of authority with an open and proactive approach to development and bring together professional groups and interests around solutions that are both sustainable and feasible to realize. At the same time you will have a visible role in serving three political committees and will participate in forums where decisions are shaped.

Your managerial responsibility thus spans across when you must translate political visions into clear priorities, ensure progress in municipal and local planning, and create even better coherence between urban development, climate, business and mobility.

We are seeking a leader with planning expertise, strategic vision and decisiveness. You lead through trust, clear frameworks and presence, stand firmly in the political arena and can make complex dilemmas understandable. Above all, you are energized by setting direction and creating development together with others.

The application deadline is November 11, 2026.
