About the job
Head of Department for Early and Preventive Interventions – Disability and Psychiatry
Would you like to lead a strong professional community where we work every day to ensure that people with disabilities and mental health challenges can live an independent, meaningful, and active life on their own terms?
In Early and Preventive Interventions we are seeking a department head who can create direction, development, and followership in an organization characterized by high professionalism, engagement, and ambitions on behalf of citizens.
We are seeking a leader who can combine clear leadership with presence and collaboration. A leader who believes that the best solutions are created together with employees, citizens, relatives, and partners, and who can translate strategic goals into meaningful practice in everyday life.
You will become part of Adults, Disability and Psychiatry in Holbæk Municipality, where we work from a shared citizen perspective with a focus on resources, hope, self-determination, and participation in communities.
About the position
As department head you will be responsible for staff who provide support to citizens in their own homes under the Social Services Act §§82 a/b and §85, as well as staff in activity and socialization offerings under §79.
The citizens are people with disabilities and/or mental health challenges who want to live an active and meaningful life with as much independence as possible. Our interventions are based on each citizen’s wishes, hope, resources, and possibilities, and we work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative with a focus on participation, mastery, and development.
You will lead a group of employees who are committed and professionally competent, working from an appreciative and resource-oriented approach.
As department head you must create the professional and organizational framework that supports employees’ work with citizens. You must ensure high professional quality, well-being, and coherence in task execution while contributing to the continued development of the area.
We work, among other things, to
- further develop group-based interventions
- implement digital solutions and screen visits
- strengthen collaboration with civil society
- develop citizen involvement and peer-supported activities
- support data-informed and professionally well-founded practice
The position is 37 hours per week.
A leadership role with influence and development opportunities
You will play a central role in further developing the quality and the professional foundation in Early and Preventive Interventions.
Together with the area leader, department head colleague, and professional coordinator, you will help translate strategic goals into concrete practice and ensure that our offerings develop in step with citizens’ needs and the political ambitions for the area.
We are looking for a leader who is curious about development, has an eye for both operations and strategy, and who is motivated by achieving results through others.
With us you have the opportunity to leave a clear professional and leadership mark in an organization where collaboration, inclusion, and integrity are central values.
We imagine that you
- have a leadership qualification or are in the process of completing one
- have experience with the target group and preferably leadership experience from the social sector
- can create followership through clear communication, involvement, and direction
- have an understanding of recovery-oriented rehabilitation and citizen involvement
- can balance present leadership with strategic overview
- work systematically and can translate goals into action and results
- provide professional sparring and support employees’ development
- can handle complex issues with calm, reflection, and decisiveness
- see documentation as an important professional tool for learning, quality and development
You will meet an employee group that wants a leader who is accessible, clear, and development-oriented. A leader who listens and involves, but who also dares to make decisions and create direction.
We envision a leader who can see themselves in Holbæk Municipality’s leadership foundation
In Holbæk Municipality we believe that good results are created through trust, shared responsibility, and strong relationships.
As a leader you are expected to create direction and followership through dialogue, involvement, and clear expectations. You must be able to translate political and strategic decisions into concrete practice and at the same time create the framework in which employees can succeed with the core task.
We expect that you
- take responsibility for both results, people, and collaboration
- work in a trust-based and inclusive manner
- support professional reflection, learning, and development
- have the courage to make decisions and stand firm when necessary
- create collaboration across professional disciplines, departments, and organizations
- actively contribute to the overall leadership community in Adults, Disability and Psychiatry
