Helper for a cheerful and energetic woman, Charlottenlund

Background

In 2013, the Municipality of Gentofte granted me personal assistance under the provisions of the Danish Service Act concerning User-Driven Personal Assistance (BPA). The reason is that I (physiotherapist, woman, 70) have had multiple sclerosis for 29 years and need help with the tasks I cannot manage myself.

The family

I live with my husband. We have a strong family and friends network. We travel several times a year to our house in Skåne and, in the summer, to a holiday home south of Skagen. The atmosphere at home is relaxed and characterized by good humor and our interest in the world, literature, film and music.

Workplace

We have a lovely, modern and practically furnished house with a garden close to forest, beach and the S-train, where you will be provided with a good room with internet access.

Tasks

You shall be my “arms and legs”. That describes your role quite well, and here are some practical examples:

You shall -

· Drive for me – especially in connection with physiotherapy and bathing in the municipal bathing scheme 2 times a week

· Help with transfers using a hoist back and forth between the resting chair/bowl chair and the wheelchair

· Ensure lunch and prepare dinner based on a meal kit from Årstiderne

· Organize/wash my clothes

· Organize my papers together with me

· Help with personal care

Extent of work and salary etc.

I already have 3 part-time helpers and 1 substitute, all of whom have other jobs, and therefore I need one additional substitute to reduce vulnerability. The shift schedule covers the hours 8–20 every day of the week.

The employment relationship is regulated by the BPA handicapped helper agreement between FOA and Dansk Erhverv.

Expectations of my helpers

I am seeking a woman aged approximately 30–55 years. You must be a non-smoker and have a driving license for my VW Caddy, which is a converted passenger car. It is natural for you to communicate and build good relationships. You can handle the employment relationship professionally and find the right balance between private and work life.
