We are a small, well-functioning nursery with 24 children and 8 staff. We are looking for a new pedagogical leader, as our current leader has had to take on another task in our wonderful day care. Since we are a small nursery, the position as pedagogical leader for us is quite special. You must be prepared, while leading us, to also want to participate in the daily pedagogical practice together with the children and the staff.

In return, there is the possibility for you to try out your leadership abilities with us – perhaps this is your first leadership job and that is absolutely okay. We are seeking someone who can see themselves within our framework and at the same time is visionary, has a clear drive for children’s participation opportunities, staff professional development, cooperation with the parents, and the strong community that already characterizes our nursery.

On the edge of Trøjborg, our house sits in a small oasis hidden behind hedges, shrubs and tall trees. We live in an old house with charm and stairs. Our families typically live nearby and there is a strong sense of community and strong support as well as close cooperation with the parents. We are part of a day care with 11 different departments and a well-functioning leadership team, with a high degree of psychological safety, ready to support you with their respective competencies. You will also be assigned a mentor from our leadership team.

About us

Trøjborg nursery is normed for 24 children aged 0-3 years. We have a cozy playground arranged with different areas that can inspire motor skills and the various senses. We have just replaced most of the play equipment on our playground, which fits perfectly into our old garden. Our house is a lovely old house where we are divided into 2 rooms and we work a lot across in smaller groups. We are in the midst of a process to create various inspiring learning environments that stimulate the children’s development.

We place great emphasis on language and play as the foundation for the children’s development, and we work with Sprogtrappen (Language Stair) and based on the elements of Marte Meo. We have a close and constructive collaboration, both with one another in the staff group and with the parents regarding the children’s well-being and development. Our parents are engaged and actively contribute to supporting our shared events and traditions.

You will become part of a large leadership community with engaged leaders from across our day care. Together we work purposefully to develop the pedagogical learning environments so that all children have optimal opportunities to thrive, form, learn and develop. We are in full swing with Day care for all, where we focus on each child experiencing being an equal and valuable part of the community. Community and collective responsibility are core values in our work, and we emphasize creating a culture where we lift together and work closely for the children’s best.

About the job

As a pedagogical leader you will be responsible for the pedagogical practice at Trøjborg nursery. Your primary task is to be close to practice, where you create frameworks and prerequisites for the pedagogical work with the children through clear goals, organization of work, and professional sparring and feedback to your staff.

• You must lead a clear alignment between the pedagogical objectives and daily practice with professionalism and the children in focus.
• You must be a driving force for the shared quality understanding in Aarhus Municipality and work purposefully to create participation opportunities for all children.
• You must lead your staff through inclusive processes, shared learning and development – and through individual feedback and sparring.
• You must together with the staff create daily structure based on a well-functioning meeting plan and efficient coordination of tasks with an eye to the house’s total resources and ensuring stable operation.
• You must collaborate with the parents – in daily life, in the parent council and through clear and explicit information and communication.
• You are responsible for the daily administration, economy, maintenance and operation of the institution within the given framework.

• You are structured, able to create systematics and overview – in daily operations and in your own tasks.

Requirements for the position

You are pedagogically educated and professionally grounded with experience in the 0-6-year area.

You want to test your leadership skills – perhaps you have previously been in a leadership role, e.g. as a mentor, professional lighthouse, consultant or similar.

Maybe you have a leadership education and otherwise want to start one.

You know or can quickly acquire knowledge about digital tools and can support the digital strategy, where staff must work with Aula, Norma, SharePoint, Chromebook and Outlook.

Salary and employment

This is a full-time position, where you are employed without a cap on working hours.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and local pay agreement concluded with the negotiating professional organization. Annual salary is approx. 512,000 DKK excluding pension. Additionally, there are, under the local pay agreement, qualification allowances for specific educations.

A child records check and criminal background check will be obtained.
