Instructor for a new cybersecurity education

Would you like to help educate the next generation of cybersecurity specialists?

We are looking for a technically strong instructor for our new professional bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.

The program focuses on practical competencies within Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), IT infrastructure, networks and security, and we are seeking an instructor who can translate practical experience into engaging teaching and practice-oriented learning programs.

Your primary tasks

As an instructor you will become part of a professional environment where you both teach and contribute to the development of the education.

Your primary teaching areas will be

• Programming.
• Automation and Scripting.
• AI in cybersecurity.
• Intrusion detection and –prevention.
• Network and system security.

If you have competencies you may also teach in the following areas

• Communication and Reporting
• Business understanding
• Governance, Risk and Compliance

The teaching will among other things include setting up and securing networks, working with operating systems, scripting and automation, monitoring and analysis of security incidents, as well as use of tools for intrusion detection and prevention.

You will be working on an education where, in addition to IT-technical subjects, there is also teaching in more business-oriented subjects such as Communication and Reporting, Business Understanding and Governance, Risk and Compliance. You will work with practice-oriented teaching, where students among other things work in lab environments with installation, configuration, monitoring and analysis of systems and networks.

Your profile

We imagine that you

• Have a relevant education at master’s level or professional bachelor level with a few years of professional experience within IT, cybersecurity, computer science or equivalent.
• Have experience with networks, servers and IT infrastructure.
• Have knowledge of network security, monitoring and log analysis.
• Have experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash or PowerShell)
• Have an interest in cybersecurity and the threat landscape in modern IT environments.

It is advantageous if you have experience with e.g.

• Configuration of network equipment, firewalls and VPN.
• IDS/IPS, SIEM or other security tools.
• Linux and/or Windows servers.
• Cloud or hybrid environments.
• Information security standards and frameworks, for example ISO 27001, NIST CSF or CIS Controls.
• Risk management, maturity assessments and security analyses.
• Dashboarding and visualization of security data.

Employment terms

Full-time permanent position at 37 hours per week, can be reduced at the applicant’s request. Expected start date is January 4, 2027.

Your new workplace will be in our new modern building at Havneparken 1, 6000 Kolding.

You will be employed as an assistant professor or lecturer. If hired full-time as an assistant professor, you will automatically participate in a lecturer qualification program, where we prepare you for your role as a knowledge worker.

The employment is in accordance with applicable collective agreement, as well as the organizational agreement for teachers at business academies and universities of applied sciences, etc.

The employment is subject to regulations on the position structure for teachers at universities of applied sciences, etc., and regulations on lecturer qualification, lecturer evaluation, etc., of teachers at universities of applied sciences, etc.

Professional and teaching assessments are part of the recruitment process.
