IT intern for development and data projects

Are you studying IT and want to get hands-on with real code in practice and see your solutions used by thousands of users? As an intern with us you will work with web crawling, data mining and development – not just theory, but solutions that are used.

Who are we?

At Move On Career we work with job placement , journalism and Employer Branding . We own a number of online job portals, such as StuderendeOnline.dk , Jobbank.dk and Nyuddannet.dk or SOSU.nu - and we also develop job and career solutions for other companies.

Our platforms collect relevant job postings for our users – primarily targeted at highly educated individuals. Behind it all is our own crawler, which daily scans and categorizes thousands of company pages and helps drive one of Denmark’s largest databases for jobs and career opportunities.

We are a small team that, based in our office in Solrød, has a free and informal tone and a daily life full of good humor. We set high demands of each other, but embrace the principle of freedom with responsibility, and we look forward to welcoming you to the team.

What do we offer?

As an IT intern with us you will gain hands-on experience with real issues from our platforms. You will come close to both systems and decisions – and get the opportunity to work with several different types of tasks.

Part of your daily work will revolve around our crawler setup. You will be involved in fetching and processing data from external services via HTTP/HTTPS, parsing and structuring content, and improving the quality of our data. At the same time you will help further develop our algorithms and modules so the systems are even better at finding and understanding relevant job postings.

You may also get the opportunity to work with data analysis and optimization of our search and matching logic – and thus help improve the user experience. Additionally you may contribute to the development of our web platforms, depending on your interests.

You will work with both frontend and backend – depending on where your strengths and interests lie. You will work in modern web applications based on classic MVC principles, where we handle backend logic, data processing and frontend presentation. You don’t need to know it all from the start; the most important thing is that you are eager to learn and enjoy working with code and problem solving in practice.

If after the internship you would like to write a study or thesis project with us, that is also a possibility. Several of our former interns have based their projects on concrete problems from our systems.

Before I started my internship, I was unsure how much I could learn in a program at a smaller company. It turned out, however, that the company’s size gave me greater responsibility, which ended up benefiting me greatly. What are we looking for?

We are looking for a student who can actually love programming – and who wants to use their internship to work with code and data in practice.

You are probably pursuing some kind of IT education, but more important than the title is that you recognize yourself in the following:

• You have a real interest in programming, systems and data processing
• You have experience coding – e.g. through studies or personal projects
• You enjoy nerding out on problems and finding solutions, even when it takes a little extra
• You can work independently, but also ask when you get stuck
• You want to work with web, data and backend logic

It is an advantage if you have a internship period of at least 4-5 months.

The practical

As an intern you will become part of our development team and take responsibility for your own tasks – with mentoring along the way. You will work with real problems and have the opportunity to develop your technical skills in practice.

You will be based at our office in Solrød Center – a few minutes’ walk from the S-train (line E).

The internship typically lasts 3-5 months in the spring of 2027. We agree on the exact dates together so that it fits with your studies – and we would like you to be able to stay a bit longer if possible.

The internship is full-time, but of course there is flexibility regarding exams and study activities. The internship is unpaid .
