About the job

Department of Gynecology, Fertility and Births – Rigshospitalet, Juliane Marie Centre

Would you like to work with specialized maternity care, where the family is at the center, and where we develop new ways to keep mother, baby and partner together during hospitalization?

We are looking for midwives or nurses with start date on January 1, 2027 or by agreement. You will have the opportunity to help develop the future of maternity care together with us.

With us you will meet families where pregnancy or birth has been complicated by illness or need for treatment. Therefore high professional standards, interdisciplinary collaboration and care for the whole family are essential.

The maternity ward at Rigshospitalet currently consists of three maternity units that work closely together on patient pathways. When Mary Elizabeth's Hospital opens at the end of 2027, the maternity wards will be consolidated on one floor. Here we will work even more closely together on the future of maternity care.

The positions are currently located in Maternity Ward 5033/34 and are a 37–32 hour position.

About Maternity Ward 5033/34

Maternity Ward 5033/34 is a specialized maternity ward where we receive women with medical or surgical illnesses as well as complications after birth. This means that with us you meet families with complex pathways, where clinical acumen, interdisciplinary collaboration and care for the whole family are essential.

We receive, among other things, patients with diabetes, preeclampsia, heart and metabolic diseases, as well as women who have had complications in connection with birth or require close observation afterwards.

The ward has 28 beds and an observation/recovery function with space for three patients. Here, women after cesarean section or other birth complications are observed and treated.

In our family rooms, mother, baby and partner can be together throughout the entire stay. When both mother and baby require treatment, we work closely with the Department for Intensive Care of Newborns and Young Children.

We also have a strong focus on cohesive patient pathways and collaborate closely with the delivery ward and the other maternity wards to ensure good and safe transitions for the families.

Leadership and culture

We prioritise that you receive a safe and structured introduction with a mentoring program, ongoing sparring and a focus on both your professional and personal development.

With us, nurses, midwives and social- and health-care assistants work well together, and we believe the best solutions are created collectively. Your ideas and your engagement will be met with recognition and curiosity, because we want everyone to contribute to the development of the future of maternity care.

We seek colleagues who

  • are committed to the professional development of maternity care
  • would preferably have obstetric experience and/or other relevant medical or surgical experience
  • value high professionalism
  • are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and patient involvement
  • are passionate about family-centered holistic care
  • thrive in a dynamic specialty with many pace changes

We offer

  • a planned, individualized and structured introductory program with mentoring
  • a leadership culture focusing on safety, professional development and recognition
  • a workplace focusing on family formation, patient involvement and patient satisfaction
  • a strong professional and collegial community
  • weekend shift every third weekend and one extra weekend shift during a three-month period with 8-hour shifts
  • 10–12 evening and night shifts over a 6-week period, distributed across about five night shifts and five to seven evening shifts

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for non-management staff in the SHK area entered into between the Danish Nurses Association and the Regions' Salary and Tariff Board or for non-management occupational therapists, physiotherapists and midwives entered into with the Regions' Salary and Tariff Board.
