Jyderup School is seeking an SFO pedagogue with hours in the school

Do you want to make a difference for children – both at school and in the after-school care (SFO)? Then we may have the job for you!

We are looking for an engaged and relationship‑oriented educator to 30-35 hours, who wants to become part of the daily life at Jyderup School. You will have a diverse everyday life with hours in both the school and SFO Bivognen, where you help create safe boundaries, strong communities and good opportunities for children to thrive, play and develop.

You will, among other things, have timetables in 1.D, where you become an important adult around the children – both in teaching, in breaks and in the small moments where relationships and communities grow.

With us, the educativo r role is much more than a specific function. You are an important part of the children’s everyday life and you get the opportunity to bring all of your pedagogical expertise into play.

You work closely with the children and help create an inclusive environment where there is room for difference, play, curiosity and development. You can be the one who helps a child join in play, supports a small group, creates calm in a challenging situation or initiates an activity that brings the children together.

In short: You must be able to see the child – and at the same time have an eye for the community.

When the school bell rings

In the school you work closely with teachers and pedagogical colleagues around individual students, small groups and whole classes.

Some children need an extra hand with language, academic challenges or social relations. Here your task is to create safe boundaries, be curious about the child’s perspective and help the child experience mastery, development and the opportunity to participate in the community.

You should want to be close to teaching and contribute with your pedagogical perspective. We believe children succeed best when the adults around them work together and see the child as a whole.

In breaks you are also an important adult. You are close to the children’s play, help resolve conflicts and have an eye for children who may stand a little on the edge of the community. Sometimes all it takes is a good idea, an invitation to play or an adult who stays a little longer.

When the school day ends – and the SFO time begins

When the school day ends, the community continues in SFO Bivognen for grades 0-3.

Here there is room for play, deepening, creativity, movement and lots of good ideas. We plan, among other things, café, creative workshops, ball games and various games and activities.

In the café the children can cook together, practise social skills and have time for good conversations across ages and classes.

In the creative workshops imagination can run free. Here it’s not about being the best – but about taking part. We create activities where the children can use their hands, heads and each other and experience the joy of creating something together.

We expect you to be willing to contribute your own ideas. Perhaps you have a particular interest, an activity you are passionate about, or an idea you have long wanted to try? We’d love to hear about it.

There is also time to think and plan

A good pedagogical everyday life requires more than good ideas in the moment. Therefore you also have preparation time in both school and SFO Bivognen.

Here you can plan activities, prepare for work in the school and develop ideas for the SFO. It can be anything from theme days and small projects to creative courses, games and activities.

You must be able to take leadership in the relationship and at the same time be receptive to the child’s perspective. You must be able to create structure and predictability when needed – and be able to seize the spontaneous when the situation calls for it.
