Lecturer for the professional bachelor's program in cybersecurity with solid technical understanding

The job

You will primarily teach on the bachelor degree program in cybersecurity. Depending on your profile you may also contribute to research and development projects as well as teaching on EK’s other IT security-related programs.

Our common goal is to create value for the students by strengthening their security awareness and technical competencies. Through a practice-oriented approach you help the students achieve a holistic understanding of how theory and technology relate to each other and how their knowledge can be translated into concrete value in practice.

Your central tasks will be to

• plan, deliver and evaluate practice-oriented teaching within cybersecurity and technical subject areas
• develop subject matter, teaching courses and learning activities together with colleagues and based on technological developments and industry needs
• advise students and contribute to a coherent, meaningful and motivating study environment
• participate in relevant research and development activities and build relationships to practice.

Your background and competences

The right candidates may have different profiles. The key is that you are motivated to educate the cybersecurity professionals of the future and can translate your technical knowledge into relevant and engaging teaching. If you have limited practical experience, it is important that you are willing to translate theoretical knowledge into practice-based teaching.

We emphasize that you

• have a relevant education and experience within one or more technical areas, for example cybersecurity, programming in Python, computer architecture, software security, network security, cryptography, security operations or OT security
• can create clear connections between theory, technology and practical problems
• communicate clearly and can make complex technical material understandable and usable for the students
• thrive working independently and at the same time contribute actively to the team's shared tasks
• are keen to develop both your professional areas and your teaching skills.

Teaching experience is an advantage but not a requirement. If you have not taught before, we will provide support and an introduction to the teaching role. A relevant master's degree is an advantage.

Employment as adjunct lecturer or senior lecturer

You will be employed as an adjunct lecturer or senior lecturer in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the job structure for business academies, etc.

If you are new to the teaching role, you will be employed as an adjunct lecturer and participate in EK's lecturer qualification program. It is a structured and proven program with a strong focus on your own competence development. Together with other adjunct lecturers you will, among other things, participate in courses and supervision, which over four years develop and strengthen your pedagogical and research competencies with a view to qualifying you for a senior lecturer position.

The program qualifies you to prepare your senior lecturer application and prepares you for the role as a senior lecturer, where you undertake teaching and research tasks with greater independence.

Employment as a senior lecturer presupposes a positive senior lecturer assessment in accordance with the Danish executive order no. 413 of 27 April 2025 on senior lecturer qualification.
