Lecturer for the Professional Bachelor's in Cyber Security with a governance and business profile

The job

You will primarily teach on the professional bachelor's degree in cybersecurity. Depending on your profile you may also contribute to research and development projects as well as teaching on EK’s other IT security-related programs.

IT is not only a technical area, but a business-critical foundation. Your professional focus will therefore be to strengthen the students' security awareness and competencies in, among other things, governance, compliance, business understanding, risk management, communication as well as analysis and reporting.

Through a practice-oriented approach you help the students gain a holistic understanding of how theory, technology and organizational practice are interlinked, and how their knowledge can be translated into concrete value.

Your core tasks will be

• plan, implement and evaluate practice-oriented teaching
• develop subjects, teaching sequences and learning activities together with colleagues and based on industry needs
• guide students and contribute to a coherent, meaningful and motivating study environment
• participate in relevant research and development activities and build relationships with practice.

You will join a team of teachers who together plan the students' learning journeys and share knowledge about subject matter, didactics and practice. We value different professional backgrounds and perspectives, and knowledge sharing and collaboration are an important part of daily life. At the same time you will become part of a large educational organisation with many skilled and experienced colleagues across disciplines.

The cybersecurity program is still under development. You will therefore have a real opportunity to make your mark on the development and implementation of the subjects and the education. Our ambition is to develop the program in step with technological development and in close cooperation with the industry, with a focus on both the academic and pedagogical aspects of teaching.

Your daily workspace is, as a rule, EK’s campus at Nørrebro, where you become part of a lively study environment with modern teaching facilities.

Your qualifications and competences

The right candidates may have different profiles. The decisive factor is that you are motivated to educate the cybersecurity professionals of the future and can translate your knowledge into relevant and engaging teaching.

• have a relevant education and professional experience in one or more of the areas of cybersecurity, governance, compliance, business understanding, risk management, communication, analysis or reporting
• can create clear links between academic theory, technology and organizational practice
• communicate clearly and can make complex material understandable and applicable for students
• thrive working independently while also actively contributing to the team’s shared tasks
• are eager to develop both your subject area and your teaching abilities.

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not a requirement. If you have not taught before, we provide support and an introduction to the teacher role. A relevant master's degree is an advantage.

Employment as adjunct or senior lecturer

You will be employed as an adjunct or senior lecturer in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the job structure for business academies, etc.

If you are new to the teaching role, you are employed as an adjunct and participate in EK's lecturer qualification program. This is a structured and proven program with a strong focus on your own skill development. Together with other adjuncts you will go through courses and mentoring, which over four years will develop and strengthen your pedagogical and research competencies to qualify you for a lecturer position.

The program qualifies you to prepare your lecturer application and prepares you for the role as a lecturer, where you will handle teaching and research tasks with greater independence.

Employment as a lecturer requires a positive lecturer assessment in accordance with the Executive Order no. 413 of 27 April 2025 on lecturer qualification.
