Staff Member for Nexø Day Center

Day Center Nexø seeks a new employee.

The position is a permanent role of 37 hours per week with start on December 1, 2026 or after agreement.

You will become part of a unified day center team, where we collaborate across Rønne and Nexø and focus on creating good and meaningful everyday life for the citizens who use our day centers.

About the day centers

Bornholms Regionskommune has two day centers – one in Rønne and one in Nexø.

The day centers are part of the Department of Nursing and Rehabilitation in the Center for Health and Care, and we work closely with, among others, Sønderbo and the temporary placements.

The position will primarily be attached to Day Center Nexø, but there may be occasional workdays in Day Center Rønne and at the temporary placements at Sønderbo.

Day Center Nexø daily receives about 16-20 citizens from their own home. We are a small staff group of 9 employees in Rønne and 5 colleagues in Nexø.

The citizens are admitted to the day center with different needs, resources and wishes. We work to create meaningful communities, activities and participation opportunities, which take the individual citizen's life, interests, resources and current situation as a starting point.

That can for example be chair-based gymnastics, games, creative activities, music, reminiscence and other activities that support community, joy of life and participation.

We also experience a growing intake of citizens with dementia or cognitive challenges. Therefore interest and preferably experience within the dementia field is an advantage.

We work with the elderly at the center

The Elderly Act sets a clear direction for elderly care with a focus on, among other things, self-determination, quality of life, presence and trust in the professionalism of staff.

For us, it is not only about which activities we offer, but about what makes sense for the individual citizen, and how we create opportunities for participation, community and mastery based on the citizen's wishes and resources.

We therefore focus on seeing the whole person and on working in a holistic, rehabilitative and preventive way in close collaboration with the citizen, relatives, colleagues and relevant partners.

We expect that you

• Have relevant health science or pedagogical education and be professionally grounded.
• Can work with citizens with complex social, psychological and health-related issues.
• Can meet both citizens with significant cognitive challenges and citizens who need other forms of activity, community and stimulation.
• Can plan and carry out activities independently and together with citizens and colleagues.
• Have an appreciative and respectful communication with citizens, relatives, colleagues and partners.
• Can work independently while also actively engaging in close interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Are stable, engaged and able to maintain an overview in a busy everyday life.
• Contribute positively to the community and be eager to be an active part of our team.
• Have an interest in people with dementia and preferably experience in the dementia field.
• Have experience with or interest in working with social-pedagogical action plans.
• Can use IT at user level and preferably have knowledge of Cura.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and according to the principles of local pay formation.

There will be a criminal record check upon employment.

A category B – regular car – driving license is a requirement.

The position is 37 hours per week.
