About the job

Are you eager to work with complex psychiatric issues in elderly patients in a strong multidisciplinary environment?

We are seeking a neuropsychologist or specialized psychologist for the Elderly Psychiatry Team in Gødstrup as of January 1, 2027 . You will become a central professional in the assessment and treatment of elderly patients with mental disorders, cognitive challenges, and complex interactions between psychiatric, somatic, and social issues.

The position provides the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses, including affective disorders, psychoses, anxiety disorders, dementia assessment, and cognitive impairments. Neuropsychological assessment is an important part of the work, but the position also includes broad psychiatric diagnostics, interdisciplinary assessment, and treatment planning.

The team is part of Clinic 2 at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup which, in addition to the Elderly Psychiatry Team, also houses the Personality Disorders Team, the OCD and Anxiety Team, and the Depression and Mania Team.

About the position

You will become part of a close multidisciplinary collaboration with

  • Specialist in Psychiatry
  • Specialist in Internal Medicine with a particular focus on somatic and medical issues
  • Specialized nurses in elderly psychiatry
  • The Memory Clinic and other relevant collaborators

This organization provides a rare opportunity to work at the crossroads of neurology, somatics, and psychiatry, where cognitive symptoms are assessed in close connection with both psychiatric and medical issues. As a neuropsychologist/specialist psychologist you will therefore play a central role in interdisciplinary diagnostics and treatment planning.

Your tasks

  • Psychological and diagnostic assessment of patients in elderly psychiatry
  • Contribute to clarification of complex psychiatric problems
  • Neuropsychological examination and testing when relevant
  • Participation in multidisciplinary conferences and treatment planning
  • Collaboration with patients, relatives and external partners
  • Interdisciplinary sparring with physicians, nurses and other professional groups
  • Contribute to the professional development of the elderly psychiatric offering

We are seeking a colleague who

  • Is a specialist psychologist in psychiatry or a specialist in neuropsychology
  • Has an interest in elderly psychiatry and complex patient pathways
  • Has experience with or an interest in psychological and diagnostic assessment
  • Thrives in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Has good collaboration and communication skills
  • Wishes to contribute to the development of a specialized field

You will become part of a highly specialized elderly psychiatry team with close daily sparring between the disciplines. Neuropsychological examinations, psychiatric assessment, somatic assessment and nursing observations are continuously integrated into a holistic assessment of the patient. This provides a strong professional foundation for the assessment of, among other things, dementia, affective disorders, psychoses and other conditions with cognitive symptoms.

The position is therefore particularly attractive for those who wish to work with complex diagnostic problems in an environment where the different professions actively complement each other, and where decisions are made jointly around the patient.
