Niclas seeks a full-time permanent caregiver for a disabled person – permanent night shift in the respiratory team, Aalborg

I am seeking a permanent disability caregiver full-time for my respirator team in Aalborg. The position is about 140-160 hours per month and is primarily a fixed night shift position with awake night shifts.

It is important to emphasise that I am seeking a helper who mainly wants to work night shifts. However, there will be opportunities for day shifts when there is a need to cover due to illness and holidays among my other assistants.

Because I am a respiratory user and require 24/7 monitoring, shifts are 12 hours. Night shifts are awake, so you must be prepared to stay awake and be attentive throughout the entire shift.

Work takes place every day of the year, and you must be prepared to work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. It is important that you are flexible and can join a team where there is staffing year-round. This is a shared responsibility in the team.

I am looking for a stable helper who wants to stay in the job for a longer period. For me, it is important to have a good and permanent team where we get to know each other and where there is not too much turnover.

My requirements for you

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have a driving license.
• You are stable, responsible and flexible.
• You have a good mood and a positive approach to work.
• You primarily wish to work night shifts.
• You are prepared for day shifts to occur as needed due to illness and holidays.
• You can work on weekdays, weekends and holidays according to the duty roster.
• You would like to become part of my team in the long term.

Work tasks

The work includes, among other things, helping me with

• Personal care and other daily needs.
• Cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping.
• Driving to, for example, family, friends and various activities.
• Respiratory treatment and monitoring.

It is a requirement that you complete training in respiratory treatment before you can work independently as a caregiver for me.

My current helpers will provide four training shifts before you get your own independent shifts. If you already have experience or education in respiratory care, that is an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

There will also be training in the use of a ceiling lift and other aids.

A little about me

I am a young man aged 31 who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and therefore sits in an electric wheelchair. I live in my own apartment in Vejgaard in Aalborg.

In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, watching movies and series, as well as going to Aalborg Stadium to watch AaB play football, and watching the Pirates play ice hockey. I also enjoy going to the cinema, visiting family and friends, and going to concerts.

In addition, I like to get away from home and experience something new. This could be short trips abroad, stays in a holiday home or trips to festivals. Therefore, it is important that you can also see yourself joining such trips when appropriate. The work may involve more than the daily routine at home, and I hope you are keen to be a part of these experiences.

As my caregiver, you will become an important part of my daily life. Therefore I hope to find a person who is caring, reliable, flexible and eager to contribute to making my everyday life run smoothly – both at home and when I am out enjoying experiences.

All caregivers receive holiday pay of 12.5% of the salary, which is paid into Feriekonto.
