About the job

We receive many new children, and therefore we are seeking the following

  • We are looking for a pedagogue for the early years in the Hjadstrup department.
  • We are looking for a pedagogue/pedagogical assistant/assistant for the early years/middle grades in the Hårslev department.

Please indicate in the application whether both departments are of interest to you.

At Nordfynsskolen we believe in the potential of all children. If you are passionate about developing both the children and the school—and you really want to become a part of our dynamic organization? Then read more here.

The available positions at Nordfynsskolen are affiliated with our department in Hårslev, where the target group is children with multiple disabilities and children with autism spectrum disorders, and our department Hjadstrup, where the target group is children with socio-emotional challenges.

What is common for our pupils is that they need the right outlook, a close adult relationship and an inclusive learning community in order to unfold their resources. We are committed to creating participation paths for all our children.

Nordfynsskolen is a special school consisting of four special provisions spread around the municipality. At Nordfynsskolen we emphasize that learning, personal development and social skills go hand in hand, and we therefore work cross-professionally in teams, where all disciplines are valued equally.

At Nordfynsskolen we believe that through a holistic approach we can cultivate and develop children's potential. The pedagogical and didactic foundation rests on four politically adopted pillars: mentalization, low arousal, positive psychology and neuroaffective developmental psychology. We also work based on a competency mindset, where the adults bear the responsibility that the demands placed on our students match their prerequisites for success.

Our pedagogical thinking and learning environment are carried by values such as integrity, trustworthiness, visibility, openness and curiosity. We believe that all children do their best – academically and socially.

Everyday life in all departments is framed with a high degree of visual structure, predictability, variation in teaching, and individually tailored timetables. We work purposefully to create a feeling of success and mastery for all children and work with well-being as a prerequisite for learning.

We value good parent collaboration highly, as we see all parents as an important resource in the children's lives and development.

We are looking for a colleague who wants to work with lovely children who need special adults to develop and thrive.

You will join a class team and will have hours in both the school part and the after-school part. As pedagogical staff with us you must be flexible and able to contribute to the teaching as well as manage the after-school time with morning opening and afternoon activities.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is academically trained as a pedagogue and/or has knowledge and experience from the special education field
  • is helpful, positive, clear and respectful in interactions with students, parents, colleagues and other professional groups
  • can support the learning environment, has competence to develop students' skills and thinks about children's learning and development in many ways
  • works in a structured and systematic way and can set clear boundaries and create predictability for the pupil group
  • can plan, carry out and evaluate differentiated pedagogical activities within the child's zone of proximal development
  • can work based on systemic thinking – see connections and take different perspectives and have an understanding of your own influence on the children
  • can reflect on own practice and on that basis develop new pedagogical initiatives
  • can maintain calm and overview in pressured situations, as we have students who can respond both verbally and physically to, for example, unpredictability, too high demands, adults' insecurity or lack of harmony
  • possesses empathy and can establish good relations with both children and parents
  • is reflective and can give and receive constructive feedback
  • is good at communicating both orally and in writing
  • can work within the time frame from 06:20 to 17:00

We offer

  • a wonderful group of students who want to be seen, supported and experience appropriate demands/expectations that bring them into development
  • staff who help each other and together raise the task of bringing the students into well-being, learning and development, among other things through an involving parent and cross-professional collaboration
  • an exciting, development-oriented and dynamic workplace with a skilled and engaged staff
  • a workplace that values good well-being among staff, parents and students
  • a workplace where good humor and laughter are part of daily life
