Nurse or SSA sought as a temporary replacement for an 8-year-old girl

Will you create safe and cozy hours for a happy and talkative girl? We are looking for a substitute who can step in as needed and be with her when the parents are out.

About the task

The girl is 8 years old and has a muscular dystrophy, which means she has reduced mobility and uses a wheelchair. She is cheerful, imaginative and good at immersed play. She also loves to talk and communicates in both Danish and English.

Your task is to be with the girl at home and create safe surroundings while the parents are out. The time together will be based on her interests and daily form, with room for play, conversations and cozy activities.

The girl can get down from her wheelchair or sofa by herself, but needs help getting back up. In the home there is a ceiling lift used for mobilization, so you must not lift her.

The task also includes tube feeding and suctioning in the mouth cavity. You will be trained in the concrete tasks.

Personal care is, as a rule, carried out by the parents.

About you

You are a trained nurse or social- and health care assistant and have a calm and presenceful approach. You can create security around the girl and at the same time follow her initiatives in play and interaction.

It is not necessary that you have experience with all tasks in advance, as you can be trained. You may be English-speaking, but the conversation at DUOS takes place in Danish.

Working hours

We primarily seek a substitute who can step in when the regular employee does not have the opportunity to help.

The concrete shifts and times are planned with the family as needed.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the national agreement between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance, and health insurance is part of your pension arrangement.
