About the job

Craft a meaningful everyday life – both as a nurse and an on-island resident

Dreaming of a nursing professional job where you get close to citizens, take responsibility and have good colleagues backing you? And would you like to combine a meaningful working life with life on one of Denmark's most beautiful islands?

Then we may have the job for you!

In the Outgoing Area in Ærø Municipality you will have the opportunity to use your entire nursing professionalism. You come close to the citizens, follow their trajectories and experience how your efforts make a real difference in their everyday life. You get responsibility and the possibility to work independently, but you never stand alone.

We are a committed nursing professional team working closely with home care and the rehabilitative therapists. We bring our different professionalities into play and collaborate with the citizens to create coherent trajectories and the best possible support in daily life.

Our tasks span a wide range. In addition to the mobile nursing tasks we also handle nursing in our two nursing clinics and cover the nursing tasks at the island's two care centers. It provides a diverse everyday life with the opportunity to bring your professionalism into play across different frameworks and citizen paths.

We believe that the best solutions arise when we listen to the citizen's wishes, share our knowledge and find solutions together across professional groups. Therefore we prioritize professional sparring, collaboration and a work environment where we help each other and succeed together.

At the same time you will become part of a professional community on an island with beautiful surroundings, presence and manageable distances.

With us you get professionalism, freedom and colleagues backing you

We offer a varied everyday life with both acute and planned nursing tasks. You meet citizens with chronic diseases, complex issues and need for palliative care. You also get the possibility to work with nursing in the clinics and at the care centers.

It requires professionalism, overview and the ability to see each individual – and precisely that gives you the opportunity to develop as a nurse.

We want you to be able to bring your competencies into play and at the same time develop new ones. Therefore you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a professional resource area, for example diabetes or COPD, with relevant courses and further education.

When you become part of our team, you get

  • a independent and varied everyday life with responsibility, professional challenges and the opportunity to make a noticeable difference.
  • a versatile nursing professional daily life across citizens' homes, our two nursing clinics and the island's two care centers.
  • opportunity for professional immersion, courses and further education within a resource area.
  • a strong work community with engaged colleagues, high professionalism, humor and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • close collaboration with home care and the rehabilitative therapists on the citizens' overall needs and trajectories.
  • weekly mono-disciplinary reflection time where we discuss professional issues and develop our practice together.
  • an individual introduction and onboarding program based on your experiences and competences.
  • a mentor who supports you in becoming familiar with the tasks, the colleagues and your new workplace.
  • a workplace in development where quality, collaboration and the citizen's needs are central.

Good start – with you in the center

It is important to us that you get a good and secure start, whether you come with many years of experience or are newly qualified.

We plan your introduction and onboarding based on your experiences and competences. You will be attached to a mentor who helps you settle into the tasks, gives you ongoing sparring and supports you in finding your footing in the workplace.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead we prioritize giving you the best conditions to succeed in the job and become part of the community.

We are looking for you who want to make a difference

Maybe you have many years of experience. Maybe you are newly qualified and ready to develop. The most important thing is that you want to use your professionalism, take responsibility and be part of a community where we make each other better.

We imagine that you

  • meet citizens with respect, presence and interest in the life and wishes of the individual.
  • thrive with acute, chronic and palliative nursing tasks.
  • work independently and at the same time value professional sparring and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • take responsibility, keep an overview and are curious about professional development.
  • see the value in collaborating across professional groups and involve the citizen in the solutions.
  • actively contribute to a good working environment and know that we succeed best together.

A workplace with good connections – also to the mainland

We drive out from Ærøskøbing Hospital, which is located close to the harbor and the ferry connection to Svendborg. It provides a central and practical location for you if you commute from the mainland.

If you do not live on Ærø, it does not have to be a hindrance. We offer flexible working hours and are happy to discuss how working hours and commuting can fit with your daily life and the ferry times.

You get the opportunity to combine a meaningful nursing professional job with life on an island where nature and the beautiful surroundings are always close by.
