About the job

We are looking for nurses for our inpatient ward, where you can experience a wonderful blend of acute nursing (we have our own emergency department), short-term/long-term nursing and palliative care. So if you thrive in a changing job where daily life is never monotonous and dull, it is you we are looking for.

What matters to you when you choose a job?

In the Urinary Tract Surgery Department we place a high value on job satisfaction. We do this because job satisfaction creates the best conditions for contributing to the teamwork around the patient. If job satisfaction also matters to you, you will certainly be a good match here with us.

Job satisfaction is when we

  • experience a sense of community when a colleague can remember and asks about your vacation or your daughter’s confirmation
  • make use of the quiet periods for reflective conversations, conversations about the good patient journeys, good laughs and friendly chats
  • in busy periods help each other and value a respectful tone highly
  • get to develop nursing and have the opportunity to tell about it internally for teaching as well as at conferences and theme days
  • have an open dialogue about everyday challenges and room for all questions to be asked.

We are looking for you because you

  • are a proud and motivated nurse who, despite challenging conditions and circumstances, loves your profession
  • can contribute with a positive working environment
  • can or have the potential to switch between short and longer patient pathways as well as the acute patient
  • value the good working environment and will take an active role in it
  • have an open, curious and engaged approach to developing nursing
  • are passionate about making a positive difference for our urological patients and their relatives
  • enjoy a daily work that is professionally inspiring, sometimes unpredictable, but with room for and focus on developing your competencies.

We offer

  • an individual introduction and training program arranged between you and our onboarding-responsible nurses. They support, follow and have ongoing conversations with you through your training program, which lasts for 1 year
  • you are extra for the first 4 weeks and you will be linked to a department mentor with a fixed companion. If you are newly qualified, you will be extra supported for up to 6 weeks
  • a wonderful learning environment with plenty of professional sparring, internal teaching, theme days and an offer of a basic urological course
  • influence on your own work schedule
  • weekend shift every 3rd weekend in 8-hour shifts
  • a wonderful collegial community where we prioritise time to get to know each other and take the initiative for social events together.

The department

Urology is a surgical specialty department for patients with urinary tract disorders in areas such as bladder, penile, kidney and prostate cancer. In addition, we handle benign urological conditions, e.g., treatment of kidney stones and urination problems. We are unique in that we have our own emergency department for all acute urological patients, which is staffed by nurses from the inpatient ward.

The department consists of an inpatient ward, emergency department, clinic, including a Clinic for Pelvic Floor Disorders and a Research Unit. Urology also has satellite clinics at the Regional Hospitals in Randers and Horsens.

The position is principally 37 hours and is available from 1 January 2027 or by agreement as it may suit you.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory child- and/or criminal record and a satisfactory authorization.

We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.

The application deadline is 13 December 2026.
