About the job

You will become part of OPUS Ambulatory, based in the heart of Amager, and you will become part of a professionally competent team.

We are looking for you who are trained as a nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychomotor therapist, educator or social- and health care assistant. You are experienced, engaged and passionate about delivering outreach and intensive treatment for young people with psychotic disorders.

Who are we?

OPUS is an outpatient treatment service for young people aged 18-35 with a debut psychotic disorder, just as some of the young people also have a substance use. The treatment in OPUS is based on a recovery-oriented approach, where patients' individual wishes, goals and needs are the central focus of the treatment. In addition, group treatment, involvement of relatives and collaboration with relevant partners, both internal and external, are an important part of our holistic psychiatric effort.

OPUS team consists of nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, psychomotor therapists and a social educator. In addition, there are 3 psychiatrists and 1 junior doctor employed, as well as 1 secretary and 1 department head in the outpatient clinic. The management of the team consists of a department head who is a specialist psychologist and a department-leading senior physician.

The outpatient clinic is characterized by high activity and engagement, where interdisciplinary collaboration and professional sparring are a central part of everyday life. In daily work we are divided into 2 smaller teams.

What will you work with?

You will be responsible for the entire patient journey. You will be responsible for about 12-14 patients who participate in a holistic treatment course for up to 2 years.

As primary clinician your tasks will be to

  • Oversee the therapeutic treatment regarding psychotic disorder and possibly also substance use
  • Assess the need for and effect of medical treatment in consultation with the team’s doctors
  • Educate patients and relatives about symptoms and coping strategies, individually and in groups
  • Equip your colleagues with your current mono-disciplinary knowledge, and obtain knowledge about the other fields from your colleagues
  • Mono-disciplinary tasks depending on the professional group

What can we offer you?

You will receive training in the OPUS treatment program, and there will be opportunities for professional development through joint teaching, theme days and supervision.

We regard well-being as a central and shared concern. We value a light and informal tone, where we respect each other’s differences, and a good collegial sense of unity. In addition, it is important that everyone experiences that both work life and private life can be reconciled.

What are our expectations of you?

You have an education as a nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychomotor therapist, educator or social- and health care assistant and you have psychiatric experience. As a primary clinician it is important that you have concrete and practical experience with the psychiatric specialty and participate with interest, presence and respect.

You understand what a mental illness can do to a young person with life ahead and how it can affect the family. You are well-grounded in your mono-disciplinary specialty, so you can navigate in a field of constant change and at the same time contribute to the team with your mono-disciplinary knowledge.

In addition, we emphasize that you

  • Can build a good relationship with the patients and facilitate a good conversation
  • Thrive in a daily life where tasks are varied, often requiring both adaptability and sharp prioritization
  • Are motivated by interdisciplinary collaboration with natural involvement of the whole team’s competencies
  • Thrive with independent work and can seek support and sparring from management and colleagues

You are also expected to perform cross-organizational tasks, depending on qualifications and interests.

Salary and employment conditions

A permanent 37-hour position with start as soon as possible and no later than 01.01.2027.

Depending on education, employment will be in accordance with the agreement for;

  • social workers with salary placement as social worker
  • social-pedagogical staff at 24-hour institutions with salary placement as social pedagogue.

  • non-leading staff in the Health Cartel area contracted between the Health Cartel parties, including the Danish Nurses Organization and RLTN with salary placement as psychomotor therapist
  • social and health care personnel contracted between RLTN and FOA with salary placement as social- and health care assistant

The outpatient clinic is currently open Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00. Your working hours will therefore primarily fall within this period.

The region is a 24-hour area, and you may, as needed, be scheduled for shifts outside the outpatient clinic's opening hours in accordance with the rules of the applicable working time agreement.

As a newly hired nurse you will also be attached to a specific 24-hour ward, where you participate in on-call duties on Saturdays and Sundays every 6th week. We will of course ensure you are well prepared for the task. This happens in the form of an individual intro program, knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues. And it happens in the form of ongoing competence development based on your experiences and needs.
