About the job

In Billund Municipality, since 2024 it has been the visiting nurses in the different teams who have carried out the nursing care and the coordination of it at the municipality's nursing homes. It has worked really well in many places, but at our special nursing home for residents with dementia, after evaluation we have decided that there is a need for another solution with a fixed nurse on the task.

We are therefore seeking a nurse who has experience with residents with dementia or who has a desire to work with this specific group of citizens.

Lykkebo has 22 permanent residents and 6 respite rooms. The nursing home is new, bright and with really good facilities for residents with dementia.

Lykkebo has a fantastic dedicated team of SSAs, SSHs, pedagogues, the manager and relatives, who together with the visiting nurses will be part of your collaboration team.

The dementia nursing home works with a political development plan. The dementia area also consists of the day care Sinn e Gas in Billund, the day care Klub Mellemrum in Grindsted and our municipal dementia consultants.

You will be appointed to the visiting team and will thus report to the district manager for Billund Ude, but will also have a very close collaboration with the manager of Lykkebo. You will also physically be in our premises when there are no tasks at Lykkebo. We share the same building and there are only a few meters between the visiting team and Lykkebo.

Right now, many and major changes are taking place in the health sector. New plans for the hospitals' and primary municipalities' areas of operation are coming to light, simultaneously with the demographic development calling for action. We are very much looking forward to seeing what the future holds and are excited about the new Health Reform and the new quality standards that come into force on 1/1 2027. Until 31.12 2026, it is the visiting nurses who cover the emergency function in Billund Municipality.

01.01.2027 the emergency function will be transferred to the Region as a result of the Health Reform. Work is underway to clarify the division of tasks between the municipal nursing and regional acute nursing.

We in Billund Municipality have an extra focus on implementing the new Elderly Act which came into force 01.07.2025, and thus holistic care. Therefore all employees are sent on 5 days of training so that everyone is best prepared.

We are seeking a nurse as soon as possible or no later than 1 January 2027.

Your tasks will be diverse, but here are a few highlights

  • Coordination of, among other things, the respite places with the Admissions Office, dementia consultants, etc.
  • Nursing care for chronically ill, stable, complex and terminal residents
  • Planned and acute tasks, where you ensure correct assessment, treatment and follow-up
  • IV – administration after cooperation agreement with Region of Southern Denmark
  • Prevention through nursing assessment and investigation
  • Manage planned and acute tasks.
  • Set the direction for the professional standard, clarify action plans and ensure follow-up
  • Support the professional development among colleagues in the team
  • Ensure correct journal keeping
  • Handle all SUL services in Nexus for residents at Lykkebo
  • Collaboration with relatives
  • Carry out tasks in the visiting team if needed

We offer

  • 37 hours – but we are prepared to accommodate your wishes
  • Shifts are, as a rule, 8 hours
  • Influence on own schedule – but not self- arranged
  • Days off on weekends and public holidays
  • Extensive and good introduction to the Billund Adult Care area over about 4 weeks
  • Thorough introduction to Nexus (FSIII) and IT aids
  • Education and development
  • Accessible management - including daily presence of professional coordinators
  • Mentoring/sparring both mono- and cross-disciplinary.
  • Close collaboration with a fixed SOSU group and therapists
  • Social events – both management and staff can host these

We expect

  • That you are a trained nurse, preferably with several years of experience
  • Very welcome experience from home care, but not a requirement
  • Very welcome psychiatric experience, but not required
  • Very welcome experience working with people with dementia
  • That you can work independently with the understanding that there is always a colleague “nearby”
  • That you thrive in a sometimes unpredictable everyday life where adaptability is a constant condition
  • That you will contribute to a good and healthy work environment
  • That you can work from a rehabilitative approach, with the citizen at the center
  • That you can or would like to learn to handle the digital platforms we use
  • That you are ready for education and development

For us, it is important that we have an open and honest dialogue/communication, both between colleagues and to management. That we all speak to each other in a respectful manner. We want everyone to approach the person who can do something – if challenges or difficult situations are experienced. Caring, trust and helping each other in the interdisciplinary effort and as good colleagues are very important to us.
