About the job
Occupational Injury Case Consultant for the Danish Association of Social Workers
Do you take pride in delivering the best member service and quality within work injury and liability cases? Then you are the one we are looking for for the Advice & Negotiation department. You will be employed either at our office in Aarhus or at the Copenhagen office, and the employment is 30 hours with the possibility of a few more or fewer hours.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a consultant with experience in work injury and liability cases and preferably knowledge of sickness benefits, flex job and pension areas. Perhaps you have experience in the work injury field from the union movement, or you are employed in a sickness benefits department and have also had special occupational safety tasks.
You must be a strong communicator – both verbally and in writing – so you can provide the association's members with competent case handling and guidance and translate complex legislation into understandable language.
What are your tasks?
In close collaboration with our members you will handle cases of work injury and liability for damages, as well as follow-up cases within sickness benefits, flex jobs and the pension area.
You will be responsible for your own case portfolio and will be involved throughout the case process, which includes filing complaints, help with answering questionnaires and preparation of party hearing responses.
In addition there is teaching and dissemination of knowledge about the area including reporting and case-handling procedures to other DS consultants and members.
You must, in addition to providing professional advice at a high level, be able to handle and support our members who often are in a crisis because they have been subjected to threats, long-term stress or physical work-related injuries.
Who are you?
We expect you to be able to work independently, be proactive, responsible, structured and eager to contribute to the association's work.
You must be good at difficult conversations, and it is also a big advantage to have thorough knowledge of sickness benefits, flex jobs and pensions as well as work injuries and liability for damages.
Your educational background is social worker or equivalent level.
Who are we?
The Danish Association of Social Workers is an ambitious trade union in rapid development. We have recently consolidated our administration into a common unit with a view to ensuring a strong value proposition in member service and guidance from the first member consultant to local negotiation and to more complex negotiation tasks.
You will become part of a nationwide Work Injury team that collaborates cross-functionally within DS and externally with joint shop stewards, union representatives, health and safety representatives and lawyers around liability for damages cases.
We value community highly, even though we may not sit at the same location, and we consult with each other on cases to achieve the best professional results for our members.
You will become part of a team where openness, knowledge sharing, cooperation, engagement and mutual respect are important values. The working environment is informal, the tone is friendly and relaxed with room for smiling and laughter in a busy everyday life.
What do we offer?
We emphasize secure and stable frameworks around our work with flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work, so your work can be arranged to fit your private life.
You will have ample opportunity to develop and specialize professionally and personally through competence development, collaboration and your task-solving, and we are happy to help you realize your ambitions.
Your salary and terms of employment are attractive and set in our internal collective agreement with DJØF. We assume that your weekly working time is 30 hours including lunch break.
You will, as a starting point, be based in Aarhus but the job may require you to travel around Denmark from time to time, so you should occasionally have a car available.
