About the job

Would you like to help create strong rehabilitation pathways close to the citizen's daily life?

As an occupational therapist on the upcoming health and care placements in Svendborg you will play an important role in citizens' rehabilitation journeys – with particular focus on activity, function and mastery of everyday life.

At the same time you will have the opportunity to help shape a new regional offering in Citizen-Centered Health.

About the health and care placements

From 1 January 2027 Borgernær Sundhed at Odense University Hospital will take over the responsibility for the regional health and care placements in Svendborg.

The placements are aimed at citizens who need health professional interventions, treatment, care and rehabilitation for a period. Citizens mainly come from a hospital department, and the goal for most is that they can return to their own home.

In Svendborg, a service with 16 placements will be established with capacity expansion to 24 placements, where occupational and physical therapists, nurses, social and health care helpers and assistants work closely together.

Our shared goal is to help the citizen return to their own life with dignity, efficient pathways and high professionalism. We believe rehabilitation is most successful when the citizen is an active participant and when professional skills are brought into play across disciplines.

Your role as an occupational therapist

As an occupational therapist you will have a particular focus on how the citizen can regain or maintain the ability to perform the activities that make everyday life function.

You will be an active part of the interdisciplinary team and contribute with your occupational therapy expertise to the overall assessment, planning and follow-up of the citizen's rehabilitation journey.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

  • examine, assess and support the citizen's activity and functional ability, including ADL
  • plan and carry out occupational therapy interventions based on the citizen's goals
  • assess cognitive challenges and initiate relevant interventions/training with meaning for the citizen's daily life
  • assess the need for aids and other compensatory solutions
  • guide citizens and relatives in relevant occupational therapy interventions
  • contribute to interdisciplinary assessments and joint plans for the citizen's pathway

We envision that you

Are a licensed occupational therapist and enjoy working broadly with rehabilitation and complex citizen pathways.

In addition, we would like you to

  • have an eye for the citizen's overall daily life and the activities that are important for the individual
  • be able to work independently while appreciating close interdisciplinary collaboration
  • be able to adapt your efforts to citizens with different functional abilities and needs
  • work in a structured way and be able to prioritise your tasks
  • have a desire to help build a new workplace and a shared professional culture.

Experience with rehabilitation, dysphagia, geriatrics, cognition or complex citizen pathways is an advantage, but not a requirement.

With us you get

  • a meaningful daily life with varied and complex citizen pathways
  • opportunity for professional development and sparring
  • a close interdisciplinary collaboration where your professional expertise is an important part of the overall effort
  • opportunity to influence the occupational therapy approach
  • a workplace with a focus on quality, coherence and the citizen's needs.
