About the job

About the job

Do you want to help create and support our residents in a meaningful everyday life? Do you thrive in a daily routine where your tasks are varied and challenge you professionally?

Imagine you start at 7:30 together with nurses, a physiotherapist and social and health care assistants. You together gain an overview of the day’s tasks. You are part of the team and have daily responsibility for 1-2 residents. You may start with a morning ADL for a resident who has just moved in and you may be the case manager. At 9:30 your colleague calls you because she observes that one of the residents coughs a lot while he eats his breakfast.

You know there is a dysphagia issue with the resident, so you come. You conclude that further investigation is required, so you arrange to have lunch with the resident.

Later there may be a need for you to meet across disciplines with the physiotherapist and nurse, where you discuss possible issues.

In the afternoon you have a planned training with another resident, where you will go for a walk in the local area – and you know that this is the resident’s highlight of the week. Your day at Egely is varied and you are professionally challenged.

As an occupational therapist with us, your tasks include

  • Assessment of residents in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Carry out 1-2 morning care or ADL assessments for residents on weekdays
  • Plan and carry out training-related occupational therapy interventions
  • Assess needs for and order aids and welfare technological aids
  • Support competency development of care staff
  • Work with quality development at the nursing home
  • Note that the position is within a 24/7 area. At present the shift is expected to be day shifts.
