About the job

Pedagogue for upper school in a group arrangement for students with autism

Would you like to help create a school day where structure, relationships and community enable children to succeed?

E-classes at Gungehusskolen are looking for an engaged pedagogue from 1 January 2027 for our upper school. We are looking for a colleague who is passionate about special education and motivated to create a everyday life where learning, well-being and social communities go hand in hand – both at school and SFO/club.

With us you will become part of a professionally strong environment where we together develop our practice and raise the task with students with autism. We believe that professional curiosity, collaboration and reflection are the path to create the best framework for our students.

The position is a fixed full-time position at 37 hours per week, where you will have tasks in both the school part and in our SFO.

What is it like to work in the E-classes?

One of your upcoming colleagues describes everyday life like this

"The days are never the same – and I almost always go home with a smile, because we have professional sparring and a really strong sense of belonging."

With us you get

  • A job where you make a difference in children's lives
  • A strong collegial community with high professionalism
  • Close sparring with both colleagues and management
  • Possibility to work in large teams, where planning and development take place in collaboration
  • An workplace where we adjust and adapt to the students' needs
  • A school in development, where we work targeted towards a school for all and strengthen cooperation between E-classes and general classes

If you can see yourself in this, we can offer meaningful work with skilled and engaged colleagues.

We hope you

  • are flexible and creative in your approach to pedagogical tasks
  • have patience and courage to find solutions when students experience challenges academically or socially
  • can be clear and structured, also when everyday life requires flexibility
  • are passionate about relationship work and see it as a central part of your pedagogical work

Experience with special education is an advantage – but not a requirement. The most important is your motivation to work with the target group.

Would you like to help create safe frameworks, development and good school experiences for students with autism? Then we would love to hear from you!

About the E-classes and Gungehusskolen

The E-classes are located at Gungehusskolen in Hvidovre and house 60–70 students in the school part, plus a leisure offer from kindergarten to 9th grade.

We are an interdisciplinary staff group consisting of about 35 teachers and educators, three team coordinators and a professional leader. In addition we have a competence center, where three educators and a family counselor are attached.

The students are primarily diagnosed within the autism spectrum, some with comorbid diagnoses such as anxiety, OCD, ADHD or school refusal.

We work in interdisciplinary teams where teachers, educators and psychologist cooperate closely on the students' development. We have a close collaboration with the municipality's family department.

Our pedagogical approach is inspired by TEACCH, where structure, predictability and visual support are central elements.

Practical information

As an educator in the E-classes you are employed on a yearly norm. The educators share tasks in the SFO during school holidays. You will also have preparation time, which is placed flexibly according to the tasks.

Gungehusskolen is a public school with about 585 students, and in Hvidovre Municipality there is targeted development of a school for all, where the E-classes play an important role.

Application deadline is Friday 20 November 2026

Interviews will be held Monday 23 November 2026 between 13.00-16.00.
