About Else Hus

Else Hus is a regional residential facility for 18 residents with complex autism spectrum disorders and a lower cognitive development level. The residents live in three houses with six residents in each house.

The residents need extensive support in daily life. This applies to both social-pedagogical support, personal care and help with daily routines and practical tasks.

Our task is to create a everyday life with safety, recognisability and predictability, where the individual resident is met with respect, and where the efforts are based on the resident's needs, resources and prerequisites.

We have an internal day provision and place great emphasis on close collaboration between the day and 24/7 facilities, so that there is coherence in the residents' everyday life.

You will become part of an interdisciplinary staff group of about 80 employees including, among others, educators, social- and health-care assistants and service workers. We work across professional disciplines because we know that the quality of the efforts is created in the collaboration.

Your day-to-day with us

You will have a varied day where relationship work, pedagogical interventions and practical tasks go hand in hand.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

● Create safe and trustworthy relationships with the residents.

● Support the residents' well-being, communication and development through a structured and individually tailored educational intervention.

● Assist with personal care and daily routines, including support for personal hygiene.

● Participate in activities and trips in the local area, e.g. walks, running and cycling trips.

● Have pedagogical and practical responsibility for 1–2 residents in collaboration with colleagues, professional consultants and relatives.

● Contribute actively to professional sparring, staff meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.

● Participate in supervision and ongoing reflection on own and shared practice.

● Take part in the practical tasks that make everyday life function, including cooking, tidying up and cleaning.

We expect you to take co-responsibility for both the relationship with the individual resident and the joint work in the house.

Who are you?

We are looking for staff who meet people with respect, curiosity and recognition – and who can see possibilities and resources, even when communication or interaction requires something special.

You may have a pedagogical or health-care education, but you can also be considered with relevant experience and the right personal and professional competencies.

It is an advantage if you have a car driving licence for a passenger car.

Working hours and terms of employment

● Shift working hours in the period 7:00–23:00 according to a fixed work rotation – primarily evenings.

● Work every other weekend.

● About 18 days of presence per month.

● Regular meeting activity on Wednesdays 12:00–15:00.

● Salary and terms of employment in accordance with applicable collective agreement.

Starting salary for unionized employees

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

About Else Hus

Else Hus is a regional day and residential facility for adults with development disabilities and autism.

Common to the residents at Else Hus is that they need help and support for all functions, as well as a recognizable and predictable everyday life that is tailored to each individual's resources and needs.

Else Hus is located in Karlslunde and comprises three independent residential units with space for 6 residents in each house, our day service which is used by all our residents, and two special arrangements located in Lejre.
