Pedagogical assistant with room for development and learning for you in a day-care with good staffing

The Rainbow Daycare is a large, nice new day care facility in Glostrup. At present the institution houses 4 toddler groups, 4 kindergarten groups and a base offering that is in the process of being expanded to two groups. We are in full swing expanding both the toddler and the kindergarten, and we therefore need new colleagues for both departments who have ambitions for the children.

We work in smaller teams of two rooms together. In the kindergarten, each team consists of four fixed adults on each room as well as a floater. In the toddler unit, each team consists of three fixed adults on the room as well as a floater. We notice a positive impact for the children with more fixed adults around them, as well as a work environment characterized by calm and presence, low sickness absence and a warm atmosphere.

We work from the new view on children, where we believe that children do their best and respond to the environments they are in. Therefore we also view the children’s behavior as a way in which the children tell us something about the learning environments we offer the children. The adults have a responsibility to adjust the learning environments and our practice if the children show us a need for it.

We take care to meet each child with warmth and recognition, and to guide the children toward what we want to see, rather than talking about the undesired. In Regnbuen we are good at taking the individual child’s needs and the current group as a starting point and offering learning environments, play and activities from there.

We work daily in smaller groups, which our physical surroundings support with, among other things, a large room with two adjacent memory rooms on all rooms, a tumble hall and a creative workshop. At the moment we are focused on making our play zones razor-sharp so they invite play, curiosity and exploration for the children. In addition, we have recently started working with staff organization, staff positions and learning environments and pedagogy on the playground, as well as meal-time pedagogy.

We work from a resource-oriented approach to children and parents, and we repeatedly bring the child perspective to the fore as a compass for our pedagogical practice. We focus on care and presence among adults, slowing down the pace of everyday life, and creating time for reflection, play and to explore together with the children.

In Regnbuen we are professionally bold, we dare to wonder, be curious and critical of our own and each other’s practice. We use, among other things, TOPI, ICDP, LOFT and the language staircase as part of our working methods. We have a strong focus on creating a day care with high quality in daily life, which also means that we expect one another to stay updated on professional knowledge, and that we regularly reflect and spar in smaller or larger groups regarding professional articles, chapters, themes or podcasts, where we actively decide how we want to work with it in our children's house.

You don’t need to know everything, but you should know the most important things!

Your manner as a person and your view of children are the most important to us, therefore we accept applications from both recent graduates and experienced applicants. You should be able to see and utilize the children’s competencies, base yourself on the children’s perspective, give presence to the children and be strong in building relationships.
