Pedagogical leader for the day-care centre Bisgården, Dagtilbud Østerådalen

Children and Youth, Daycare Østerådalen, are seeking a pedagogical leader for the Bisgården day-care center in a permanent full-time position with starting date 1 February 2027

A bit about the leadership role

The Bisgården day-care center forms, together with 10 other day-care centers, Daycare Østerådalen, which belongs to Children and Youth area 7, including institutions, schools, special provision, etc.

As the pedagogical leader you join a management team with 10 other pedagogical leaders as well as the day-care leader. Here you help ensure the operation and development of the entire day-care and have the opportunity to influence the development of the day-care sector in Aalborg Municipality. We can, together, prioritize that there is time for leadership sparring with the day-care leader and with your colleagues in formal and informal network groups.

A bit about you

You are a educated pedagogician (teacher of children), preferably with management experience within our field. We expect you to be a collaborative person who naturally and transparently can set direction and lead the pedagogical development. You see the value in involvement and co-creation and are able to build strong collaborative relationships with parents, staff, management and external partners. You actively work to create psychological safety and a trusting work environment.

You see opportunities rather than obstacles and are motivated to engage and motivate pedagogical staff, always with an eye for the coherence of the whole and high quality in solving the core task.

About Bisgården day-care center

Bisgården is a 0-6 year institution, currently normed to 39 kindergarten children and 12 preschool children. The day-care center is located in Skalborg, near green areas with easy access to the bus. Our playground is spacious with several options to create differentiated learning environments for play and learning. The outdoor area is used year-round: to explore wildlife, strengthen gross motor skills, use the senses, understand the nature’s cycle, or to dance and play. We thus have good physical facilities both outdoors and indoors.

With us we work from an appreciative and inclusive perspective with a daily life characterized by both predictability, structure and room for spontaneity. We believe that care, security, professionalism and accessible adults at child height are the foundation for children's well-being. We have a pedagogical organization that takes its starting point in both the individual child and the whole group of children. There are relational groups across rooms by age for differentiated learning, and there are also arranged various learning environments focused on play, learning, development and formation.

The organization is supported by visual support systems, which is why we use pictograms and daily boards. We have a continuous focus on the value of the approach and organization that takes its starting point in the pedagogical foundation, where child perspective and viewpoints are highly prioritized. We work structurally with ICDP and NEST principles. We are very focused on strong communities where there is room for everyone regardless of where and what you come from. We therefore expect that you as pedagogical leader will support this and be co-creating in setting the frames and direction for this.

As the pedagogical leader at Bisgården day-care center, your tasks are broad. From the immediate interaction with the children to both formal and informal parent cooperation, staff meetings, administrative and operational tasks and collaboration with external professionals.

The pedagogical leader is responsible for personnel management at Bisgården and is thus the nearest supervisor for 10 engaged and professional colleagues, who bring both experience, professional grounding and different personalities. We want Bisgården to continue to have room for us to explore and investigate a safe and professional environment with room for each other’s perspectives, so you should be able to support a culture where we challenge and support each other.

Bisgården has a well-functioning parent council and an engaged parent group, who back the center and organize and hold the center’s recurring traditions.

Salary etc

The leadership position is covered by a pre-agreement according to Local pay based on the current pay grade for pedagogical leaders. Other terms of employment in accordance with the applicable agreement between KL and BUPL.
