2 Hours a Week in Aarhus is seeking an engaged intern for the autumn semester 2026, who wants to gain experience in running a voluntary social initiative in development.

About the internship

In autumn 2026, 2 Hours a Week will start a language club in Tilst, as well as plan the start in Viby and Brabrand, and we need an intern who, together with us, can make it happen. You will be involved in the entire process together with our local coordinator in Aarhus.

As an intern with us, you will become part of a skilled team that works to develop and run 2 Hours a Week from offices across the country. We are in the middle of a larger scaling project, which means that 2 Hours a Week will be present in ten larger Danish cities by 2027. The internship gives you the opportunity to combine your academic knowledge with practical experience in areas such as civil society, volunteering, children's learning and language development.

Your main tasks will be to

• Start a language club for multilingual children aged 5-7 years
• Engage in dialogue with local partners, families and volunteers.
• Gather knowledge and experience from the startup processes.
• Contribute to recruitment as well as training and mentoring of volunteers.
• Help plan volunteer evenings.

There will also be a need for ongoing handling of ad-hoc tasks as the project develops.

Practical info

The internship is unpaid and, as a rule, full-time during the period August to December. Start date and number of hours are agreed individually. There will be good opportunities to adapt the internship to your studies and private life, and of course we take exams, classes and assignment writing into account. The workplace is at 2 Hours a Week's office in Aarhus, which is located in Kollektivbyen in Brabrand.

About 2 Hours a Week

2 Hours a Week is a voluntary initiative under the Foundation for Social Responsibility. The Foundation is an umbrella organization for a wide range of voluntary social initiatives, which contribute solutions to many of society's problems and includes besides 2 Hours a Week Natteravnene, Bydelsmødre and Læsehunde. 2 Hours a Week works to strengthen multilingual children's linguistic, social and cultural competencies.

We match a multilingual child with a volunteer adult who meet regularly every week, and organize language clubs where the children, together with volunteers, follow a language stimulation program over 20 weeks. The aim is to give the children a better starting point for school life and strengthen their opportunities to become active citizens.
