About the job
Do you dream of contributing to the green transition? Researchers at DTU Sustain develop solutions to complex societal challenges, including circular material flows, climate adaptation, water technology, environmental chemistry, and sustainability modeling. We are seeking an engaged project coordinator who wants to assist the researchers with bringing in and administering research grants.
At DTU Sustain, Research Support assists researchers with applying for and administering research grants. As a Project Coordinator you will become part of a well-functioning and engaged team and have the opportunity to work with complex administrative issues, contracts, quality assurance and the professional development of our shared practices.
Research Support's goal is to make it easier for researchers to focus on what they do best; to create new knowledge and develop solutions to some of society's biggest challenges within environmental and resource technology. Research Support is part of the institute's central administration, and you will become part of a superb team where mutual support and good spirits are a natural part of everyday life.
An exciting job in an international research environment
You will have an exciting job in an internationally recognized research environment. As a project coordinator you will perform an important support function, where you with a systematic approach and attention to detail contribute to the institute's goals and make the researchers' everyday lives fit together better. You will be attached to a fixed circle of researchers.
Dine arbetsuppgifter will among other things include
- Provide administrative support for your own clearly defined project portfolio
- Advise researchers on applicable terms with the various funders
- Ensure that projects meet the funders' requirements and conditions
- Participate in the administrative project start-up and support the project leader through the project's lifecycle
- Act as the lead in reporting and contact with funders for project extensions, rebudgeting, final reporting etc.
- Coordinate financial reporting and other communications between the many project partners on projects where DTU Sustain is the coordinator
- Prepare drafts of cooperation agreements based on DTU's standard agreements and coordinate the legal handling with Law and Tech Trans. The task constitutes about 40% of the position.
- Collaborate with the Department of Economics and Accounting on project economics, project set-ups and closures
- Contribute to ensuring an overview of ongoing projects at institute and section level
- Together with your closest colleagues work to optimize knowledge sharing and processes within the team's area of expertise.
Relationship-aware project coordinator with insight into research administration
We anticipate that you have at least five years' experience from a similar position in the university sector. We also expect that you:
- have an academic background
- have insight into administrative processes and experience with project administration in a research environment
- have understanding of and experience with drafting contracts, understanding project economics, familiarity with major funds and public funding sources as well as experience with both pre- and post-award project administration
- are good at communicating in Danish and English in both written and spoken form, as you will have daily contact with both Danish and international colleagues and contacts
- find it interesting and natural to be proactive, as you will have a broad contact surface
- are proactive and can reach out to project managers to build a good relationship and ongoing dialogue about the progress of their projects
- have strong IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems. Experience with DTU's IT systems, Oracle and DOCX as well as application platforms such as Funding and Tenders Portal and E-grant would be a great advantage but is not a requirement
- thrive with varied tasks, are good at prioritizing them and have a structured approach to task solving
- can work independently and take responsibility, but at the same time be a good team player
- can maintain an overview and a good mood, even when tackling many diverse tasks at once.
What we offer you
We offer a varied job in an exciting international environment, independent work, freedom with responsibility and good opportunities for professional and personal skill development. You will have six skilled and dedicated colleagues in Research Support and will also become part of the overall administration group at DTU Sustain, which together with IT and the Secretariat forms the institute's central administration. You can look forward to a work environment where knowledge sharing, sparring and helpfulness are a natural part of everyday life.
You will report to the team leader. In addition, your work will involve broad contact with the institute's researchers and the central administrative functions at DTU. In particular there will be close collaboration with Central Research Support, Law and Tech Trans as well as the Department of Economics and Accounting. There will be ample opportunity to build professional networks across DTU's institutes and central functions.
We highly value community and believe that the best results come when you thrive both professionally and personally. Therefore we help each other, share experiences and celebrate both small and large successes along the way.
We place emphasis on a sensible work-life balance and offer flexibility regarding working hours. There will be no fixed remote-work days, but remote work can be arranged from time to time as needed.
Salary and terms of employment
You are employed in accordance with the Danish State Agreement for Academics with expected placement as a Ful dmægtig (Administrative Officer) or Specialkonsulent (Specialist Consultant) depending on qualifications, cf.
