About the job

Working with children and adolescents with severe eating disorders is both professionally challenging and deeply meaningful. In the Psychiatric Clinic for Eating Disorders you will meet dedicated and experienced colleagues, high specialization and a strong interdisciplinary collaboration around this target group.

If you want to be part of this, we are now seeking an engaged psychologist for a permanent position in our team in Gødstrup. Here you will have the opportunity to become part of a smaller local team with close collaborative relationships, while also being part of a larger highly specialized professional environment across the clinic’s facilities. We want to hire a psychologist who is eager to engage long-term in the development of our local offerings and patient pathways in the area.

About the clinic

The clinic, together with the Sleep Department for Eating Disorders, provides the hospital-based psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents with moderate to severe eating disorders.

We are a clinic spread over two locations in the Central Denmark Region with a large team in Skejby (AUH) and a smaller one in Gødstrup (RHG). The position is permanently attached to Gødstrup, but you should expect to be present about 2 days per month in Skejby, as we work closely together in daily practice around shared patient pathways, supervision, teaching, staff meetings, etc.

The clinic is characterized by high professionalism, ongoing development focus and a long tradition of specialized treatment of eating disorders. The treatment method is primarily family-based treatment (FBT), where the family is seen as the most important resource, and the treatment supports the family’s ability to help the child out of the eating disorder. One should be prepared to work outpatient with severely ill children/adolescents and their families.

This therapeutic field is often characterized by high emotional intensity, but also always contains development opportunities for both the child and the family.

We work interdisciplinary and employ the following professional groups: psychologists, doctors, nurses, social workers, pedagogues and social- and health care assistants. In outpatient treatment there is close collaboration with our inpatient unit, pediatrics, other child and adolescent psychiatry, residences and municipal actors.

In collaboration with the team you as a psychologist will

  • independently manage treatment courses
  • ensure and coordinate collaboration with professional networks around the family; including holding network meetings
  • conduct assessments of eating disorders and comorbidity
  • contribute to professional development and competence development in both the psychology group and the entire department
  • eventually, possibly handle internal and external supervision tasks
  • potentially, handle teaching and counseling tasks in the future.

We place particular emphasis on, that you

can work independently, while showing loyalty to joint decisions and common professional direction

have experience with eating disorders

have psychotherapeutic – and preferably family therapy – experience

have an interest in complex problems

as a person thrive in a small, closely collaborating professional environment, and you wish to be a stable and long-term part of our team in Gødstrup.

We offer you

  • thorough introduction and mentor system
  • to join a dedicated, humorous and professionally highly qualified therapy team with focus on development
