The Property Department seeks a trained gardener for the maintenance of schools and day care centers

We are looking for an engaged and skilled employee for our green operations. With us you will become part of an active and professionally strong workplace, where collaboration, quality and responsibility are in focus.

You will become part of our gardening group, which consists of 14 employees with different professional backgrounds and experiences. Together we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's outdoor areas at, among other places, schools, day care centers and cultural institutions. We work closely together and use each other's competencies to solve the tasks effectively, safely and with high quality.

About the job

We are looking for an employee who thrives with independent work and can plan their own workday with responsibility for a number of fixed properties and routes.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Grass maintenance
• Shrub trimming
• Sweeping
• De-icing
• General operation and maintenance of green areas

You will also participate in the ongoing maintenance of machines and have daily dialogue with colleagues, managers and users at the properties you service.

We expect that you

• have a driving license at least category B, preferably BE
• can start on December 1, 2026
• are a trained gardener, paving worker, farmer or have an equivalent relevant background
• work independently but also thrive in a team
• can plan and prioritise your own tasks in an efficient manner
• are practical and have hands-on skills
• are friendly, approachable and service-minded towards both colleagues and users
• contribute to good cooperation and a professional work culture
• have experience from the green sector

About the Property Department

The Property Department is an area in Hillerød Municipality with approximately 220 employees. In recent years, all building-related tasks have been consolidated in the department, which means that today we solve a wide range of tasks ourselves, including, among others:

• Construction projects
• Digitisation of buildings and task management
• Energy optimization
• Technical service
• Cleaning
• Trade tasks in the municipality's buildings
• Operation of green areas, football pitches, artificial turf pitches and cemeteries

Salary and terms of employment

Salary placement is according to the applicable collective agreement. For skilled gardeners the starting salary is pay grade 26, while the starting salary for unskilled gardeners/special workers is pay grade 21. In addition there is a base pay supplement.

Hillerød Municipality has smoke- and alcohol-free working hours, and a background check will be obtained upon employment (police check for working with children).
