Rosengårdskolen is looking for an excellent head of department for Fønix - re-advertisement

Do you want to help make a difference for children and young people every single day?

At Rosengårdskolen we believe that strong communities, high professional standards and diversity go hand in hand. Therefore we are now seeking a head of department for our special department, Fønix, who wishes to help create the best possible framework for our students, staff, and the ongoing development of the entire school.

You will not be alone in the task. Together with Lotte, who is head of department in Fønix, you will be responsible for a department with approximately 90 students, 12 classes and around 50 dedicated staff. At the same time you will become an important part of Rosengårdskolen’s overall management team, where we work closely together to develop the world’s most important school for the many different children across the general and special education areas. We already have Lotte, Bo, Cecilie and Søren in the management team, but we are missing you.

We are a very new and people‑oriented leadership team, which places emphasis on openness, trust and sparring. With us there is room to think freely, reflect, be curious and consider different perspectives. We see leadership as something we succeed at together, and we actively use each other’s experiences and professional strengths to create the best solutions for the school.

A daily life with meaning and influence

As head of department in Fønix you will have the opportunity to shape both daily operations and strategic development. Together with the leadership team you will, among other things:

• lead the pedagogical development of Fønix
• be a presence and clear leader for part of the staff group
• support high quality in the work with our students and their individual needs
• keep close track of student cases and collaborate with the students’ networks and external professionals
• contribute to the pedagogical didactic development and the special education initiatives
• ensure a well-functioning daily life through coordination, planning and administrative tasks
• actively participate in the school’s overall leadership and development.

Who are you?

Perhaps you have leadership experience. Perhaps you are ready for the next step in your career. The most important thing for us is that you are passionate about the well‑being and development of children and young people, and that you can see the value in a specialized learning environment that bridges to the general education area.

You have experience from the school world and familiarity with the special education field, either as a staff member or a leader. You are focused on creating followership through relationships, dialogue and trust, and you see the staff’s perspectives as an important resource in your leadership.

As a person you are curious, collaborative and present. You thrive in a daily life where two days hardly resemble each other, and where there is a need for both structure, overview and human insight. You are able to build good relations across disciplines and partners, and you are motivated by helping to create solutions that make a real difference for the students.

Salary and employment terms

The position is paid according to the applicable collective agreement. The expected salary level can be disclosed before a potential interview and depends on experience and qualifications.

The practical

The first round of interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, December 9, 2026 and the second round on Tuesday, December 15, 2026. Prior to a potential second interview you will be asked to complete a personality profile analysis, solve a case, and provide references.
