About the job

Are you passionate about helping strengthen the specialized child and youth area and PPR, and would you like to lead a group of ambitious and engaged leaders and staff? Then we think you should read on here.

Together with capable managers, you will set the direction for almost 150 employees across the area. Are you motivational and able to build trust, and do you also have financial flair and a strategic vision, then you might be our new area leader. The position is available from January 1, 2027.

You will become part of a center that includes the child, adult, and employment areas. We place great emphasis on a holistic approach, and you will become part of a strong interdisciplinary management group in the Center for Employment, Prevention and Social Interventions.

Your leadership area is divided into three different professional areas: Pedagogical-Psychological Counseling, Child and Youth Authority, and Family House.

You must be able to balance appropriate presence in leadership with close follow-up in operations, finance, compliance with the law, quality in task execution and complex challenges, and have the courage to test new professional solutions and set a strategic direction for the entire area.

You should be willing to and ideally experienced in working with leadership of leaders, and you should thrive in being part of an organization where we both operate, develop and occasionally reorganize.

You will take over an area that is in the midst of a period of change, where there are many simultaneous challenges, in headlines: Finance and Governance, Working Environment and Organisation, Professionalism, Work Processes and Competence Development, as well as a strengthening of our internal offerings in the child area.

The organization is large and vibrant, and there is a need for you to have a sense of how meaning is created with the changes that continually occur in a politically governed organization, and that you are a strong communicator. You should find it valuable to support your managers in supporting and developing their staff in operations. There is a dedicated management team within the area that stands together on both development and daily task execution. The leadership group is characterized by trusted relationships, informal dialogue and humor.

You will also be part of a new area leadership group of 3, which is getting to know each other and which emphasizes both giving and receiving leadership sparring, both laterally and upwards to the center chief.

Child-Youth Area and PPR are currently focusing on

  • Strengthening the holistic approach and collaboration with schools and day care facilities.
  • Supporting the transformation in PPR so that the core task more strongly becomes strengthening communities.
  • Developing the internal range of services, including the work with the new emergency plan in the psychiatry area.
  • Ensuring high quality in authority work, clear language in decisions and involvement of children in their own cases.
  • Ensuring usable management information, financial overview and follow-up on the effectiveness of the initiatives.
  • Supporting a good working environment for staff and leaders.

Your profile

  • You are educated in social work and have experience with the child area.
  • You have solid insight into the specialized child and youth area and knowledge of PPR’s work.
  • Familiarity with both the authority and the service delivery side is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • You have experience with leading other leaders and can create direction, followership and momentum in changes.
  • You are familiar with financial management and focused on linking data with quality and impact.
  • You are present, visible and trust-based and communicate clearly about goals, priorities and expectations.
  • You can translate political intentions into concrete changes in operations and collaborate across professional areas and levels of leadership.
  • You can create frameworks for high professional quality while focusing on well-being, sustainable working communities and a good psychosocial work environment.
  • You have a good understanding of the organization and are able to see coherence across areas, legislation and across leadership.
