About the job

Would you like to be part of an important governmental task – and a very special day for couples? The Marriage Office in the City of Copenhagen, Administration of Culture, Leisure and Customer Service is looking for case managers

At the Marriage Office in the City of Copenhagen, love and authority come together in a meaningful way. We handle a meaningful governmental task with presence, openness and professionalism. In 2026 we are in full swing scaling up the number of annual weddings to 10,000 weddings for Danish and international couples, and we are therefore seeking new colleagues.

About the Marriage Office

We are responsible for preparing and conducting weddings for both Danish and international couples. Before a wedding can take place, there is an approval and case-handling process. We conduct, as a government body, a legally binding ceremony, and it takes place both in the city hall’s wedding hall and at locations outside the city hall.

In addition, we are responsible for the city hall shop, which acts as an information desk for the city’s guests, just as merchandise is sold and couples can receive guidance prior to their wedding.

We are an office with many different competencies and experiences, all contributing to our diverse tasks. We value professionalism and diversity. You can read more about the Marriage Office’s work at I DO CPH

About the position

Your everyday life at the Marriage Office is varied and will include several different tasks. You must meet the citizens at eye level – both in person, on the phone and in writing.

You will join the Marriage Office’s team of case managers, where you will handle incoming marriage declarations as well as preparation for weddings, reissues of marriage certificates and archiving.

As an employee in the Marriage Office you will also be part of the team as a registrar and/or witness, where you help provide brides and grooms with an unforgettable experience at Copenhagen City Hall and out in the city.

One of the advertised positions will have the majority of its working time in the City Hall Shop, and you must therefore be especially interested in guiding couples before their wedding, and have direct citizen contact.

Our brides and grooms come from all over the world, so good language skills in Danish and English are a necessity.

About you

  • You have experience with case handling, and it would be an advantage if you have experience with processes where a decision is made
  • You have a relevant education, e.g. office- or service-trained in communication or administration
  • You enjoy a workday with several different tasks
  • You must be thorough, and it is an advantage if you also thrive with routine tasks
  • You have good collaboration and communication skills
  • You speak and write fluent and correct Danish and English
  • It is an advantage if you have experience with public administration
  • You have a naturally good mood and approach tasks with a positive attitude
  • You thrive with different tasks and have initiative

Employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time role. Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement (HK).

The workplace is Copenhagen City Hall with a view of City Hall Square. In addition to ordinary working hours there will be a number of weekend days within a limited period. We expect you to generally be flexible.

We wish to fill the positions as soon as possible.

A criminal record certificate and references will be obtained in connection with the employment.
