About the job

1 teacher for upper secondary in a maternity leave replacement in our department on Pramstedvej.

1 teacher for middle/primary in a fixed position on Laboratorievej.

Do you want to make a difference for children and young people with special needs?

At Sct. Jacobi School and Day Care we are looking for two engaged and academically strong teachers who want to be part of a special school with high professional standards, strong relationships and a clear common view of children.

We work every day to create the best conditions for children's well-being, development and learning. With us you will become part of a professional community that supports children and young people with general and specific learning difficulties from the entire Municipality of Varde.

About us

Sct. Jacobi School and Day Care has about 280 pupils from 0th to 10th grade and around 140 dedicated staff. The organization is divided across three campuses: Pramstedvej and Laboratorievej in Varde and a department in Tistrup. The Solsikken Special Kindergarten is also part of the organization, which together covers the special needs area in the Municipality of Varde.

Teaching takes its starting point from the framework of the Danish Folkeskole Act and is adapted to each pupil's needs, resources and potential.

We believe that all children have superpowers. Therefore, we do not see the child as their diagnosis, but as a person with unique strengths and development opportunities.

Action creates transformation

Our work is based on a systemic and resource-oriented view of children. We work with a focus on structure, clarity and visual support systems that create overview and security for the students.

We believe that learning and development arise through relationships, participation and meaningful communities. Therefore, we plan the teaching with a focus on the individual pupil's possibilities for mastery and development.

In collaboration with parents and external partners, we create the framework for a good childhood and adolescence. With us the adults take responsibility for the challenges, and we expect the staff to dare to think creatively and innovatively in their approach to the children.
