Senior Consultant – Supply Chain Planning Excellence

Coop Danmark, Albertslund (Headquarters) | Full-time | Start: as soon as possible

Do you want to help shape how one of Denmark's largest retail companies plans its product supply – with higher precision and greater efficiency? Do you get energy from structuring complex problems and translating data and analyses into tangible improvements, and do you thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution? Then you may be our new Senior Consultant in the Planning Excellence team in Product Supply.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant with a consulting profile: analytical, structured and critical in approach. Together with the team, you will drive a number of improvement projects that raise how we plan, forecast and operate.

Welcome to Coop – a community that makes a difference

Coop is more than a retail chain. We are a movement for responsible trade and strong communities. Since 1866 Coop has been owned by ordinary Danes – today over 2 million – and OK Energy Company is a cooperative partner.

We operate about 900 stores under the names SuperBrugsen, Kvickly, Brugsen and 365discount, and we are 40,000 colleagues who every day work for better food, better stores and a better future. With so many colleagues there are many career opportunities, and we want to develop the best specialists, colleagues and leaders.

Your role – where strategy meets action

At Coop, supply chain is about more than logistics. It is about understanding the entire value chain from supplier to store and ensuring that customers always encounter full shelves and strong assortments. As a Senior Consultant you will be the focal point for a portfolio of projects that lift our supply chain planning – from small process improvements to larger cross-chain initiatives.

You will work closely with me and with stakeholders from the Headquarters, Logistics, category and distribution centers. The role is versatile: one day you are close to the daily life in stores and the challenges they face. The next day you coordinate and align across the Headquarters and ensure decisions are implemented.

What you will work on

  • Project management of strategically important initiatives within supply chain planning – from problem understanding and analysis to implementation and anchoring.
  • Develop and implement best practices in supply chain planning: process optimization, standardization of ways of working and a framework that supports capability development and anchoring of new solutions.
  • Structure complex problems, formulate hypotheses and build solid business cases that set direction and priorities in the project portfolio.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and translate data and insights into concrete, measurable improvements.
  • Develop our S&OP- and planning processes and improve the interaction between Logistics, category, finance and operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in systems, processes and collaboration models and create new solutions.
  • Create change and support the digital development of our planning tools and workflows.
  • Facilitate workshops and guide stakeholders and steering committees through project phases.

Who are you?

You have a systematic approach, see the big picture clearly and make decisions calmly, while thriving in both operations and development tasks. You have a solid understanding of your field, an overview of relationships and relevant experience that enables you to challenge assumptions and ask the right questions. We imagine that you:

  • Have a relevant advanced degree, e.g. MSc in supply chain management or logistics, civil engineering, MSc in political science/economics or similar.
  • Have relevant experience with project management, management consulting or a similar role, possibly in retail, FMCG or other complex environments.
  • Can lead projects from idea to implemented result and have experience with a recognized project management method, e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA or agile methods such as Scrum. Certification is not required.
  • Are systematic and data-driven, comfortable with large data sets and proficient in Excel and modern BI and analytics tools.
  • Can structure, prioritize and create overview in complex projects and have well-developed critical thinking.
  • Communicate clearly and build buy-in across the organization – from store floor to executive board.
  • Speak and write Danish and English fluently.
  • Have an understanding of supply chain and planning (forecasts, replenishment, inventory management and S&OP)

We offer

You will take a central role in one of the most exciting transformations in Danish retail and have real influence on how we work with supply chain planning. You will have responsibility and trust from day one, a solid network across the organization and deep insight into Coop's many functions. This makes the position an ideal stepping stone for a further career at Coop.

You will become part of a workplace focused on learning and development, an informal tone, good collaboration and a culture characterized by professionalism and community. We contribute purposefully and with commitment to the business while valuing a good and enjoyable everyday life.

A modern workplace with proud roots driven by responsibility

At Coop you will join a company with deep roots and a proud history, but also a modern workplace undergoing significant development. Responsibility is one of our core values: we want to be a responsible place to both act and work.

Coop is an inclusive workplace. We strongly encourage all qualified candidates to apply – regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion or background.

At Coop we work from clear narratives about quality, responsibility and community. This means that we take responsibility for our decisions, work together across the organization to achieve the best results, and we believe that quality arises when we share knowledge, lift together and take joint responsibility.

Coop is one of Denmark's leading providers of everyday groceries. We operate the chains SuperBrugsen, Kvickly, Brugsen and 365discount. We are about 40,000 employees and together with the store associations have a total turnover of more than 40 billion DKK in our around 900 stores across Denmark. Therefore there are many opportunities for both new tasks and education and not least internal job moves within Coop. We are owned by our 2 million members and the cooperative energy company OK.

We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment, and we actively seek qualified candidates regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability or age. For us, it is about lifting as a team and creating frameworks where there is room for diversity, expertise, and quality in what we deliver – with shared responsibility for each other, for society and for the future.

In addition, we want to create equal opportunities for all and ensure an efficient and fair recruitment process. It is therefore up to you whether you want to attach a photo with your application.
