About the job

Customer service assistant at the recycling station in Furesø Municipality

We are currently looking for a colleague who will help guide our residents and business customers in sorting their waste. You will meet all kinds of people, and it comes naturally to you to always seek the good dialogue, so everyone experiences professional and good service.

At our two recycling stations we have many guests every day, and on weekends there is often crowding at the containers. We therefore have skilled employees who have an overview, can keep things in order and are ready to help customers so they feel well assisted and treated. Our new colleague is ready both to swing a broom and to learn to operate, among other things, a loading machine.

If this sounds like an exciting challenge for you, we would love to hear from you!

A team player with responsibility

You will become part of a community where you have the freedom to plan your workday together with your colleagues. It requires that you are responsible and thrive with tasks that can change quickly. Sometimes time is spent tidying up the site and handling, among other things, hazardous waste. Other times with guiding residents or showing schoolchildren around and teaching them about recycling, reuse and correct sorting.

Service comes first

You will meet many different people in a workday. Therefore it is more important that you have a service-minded approach to people, than you are already an expert in waste sorting or operating our machines. We will teach you everything about it.

Communication and fresh air

The job requires a valid driver’s license and preferably your own car. If you have a forklift license, that’s fine but not required. Instead, you should be ready to learn to operate a forklift/stacker and handle other larger machines. You will also use a computer and phone for, among other things, registrations of waste, ordering services, emails etc. Therefore basic IT knowledge at user level is a requirement.

However, it is far from an office job; most of your day will involve practical outdoor work, so you should enjoy fresh air - in all kinds of weather. At the same time you should have the desire and ability to convey your knowledge about waste sorting, recycling, direct reuse, materials and packaging to both children and adults.

Working hours

It is important that you are flexible and can work in the time window 9.30 to 18.30 and are ready to work every other weekend. You will be employed under Furesø Municipality’s Driftsgård, which handles various tasks in the municipality including the gardening and contractor areas. Winter readiness is also handled by Driftsgården, and all Driftsgården employees can be called in for winter readiness.

Your salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles, and the working time is 37 hours per week on average.

If you want to know more about the job, you can contact team leader Tyge Ringbøl Pedersen, [email protected] / tel.: 7216 4860, or department head Pernille Vous Jensen, [email protected] / tel.: 7216 5862.

If you think it’s you, we look forward to receiving your application as soon as possible and no later than November 2, 2026, likely with interviews in weeks 46 and 47. Expected job start early February 2027.
