Right now we have the most vacancies in home care, where we are looking for skilled, educated social- and health care assistants who will help provide older people with a healthy and dignified life in their own homes. We are looking for staff for the Home Care Service for citizens over 65 years and for The Social Home Care in Copenhagen, and you can be newly trained or have many years of experience.

Tasks

In the Home Care Service in Copenhagen Municipality, no two days are the same, and you will perform a variety of tasks for citizens with different life situations and needs. The citizens’ homes are your primary workplace, but we also meet daily at the base to ensure coordination and collaboration. Therefore, we are looking for you who have heart in your work and want to stay professionally sharp while carrying out tasks such as

• personal care and assistance with a focus on each individual’s needs and resources
• help and support with practical tasks such as cleaning, shopping, and laundry
• ensuring good daily routines through a rehabilitative approach
• assessing general health status and documenting the important
• participating in citizen pathways and helping to create coherence for the individual

The pace can sometimes be high, but we share the tasks and work to find good solutions. It is important that everyone goes home from work happy, with the experience of having made a real difference for people who need your expertise and help.

Home Care for citizens over 65 years

We have vacancies across the city in the Home Care Service for citizens over 65 years who need support in everyday life. From the cozy streets of Amager and the lively areas around the Inner City and Østerbro to the culturally rich neighborhoods in Brønshøj and Nørrebro or the scenic areas in Valby, Vanløse or Bispebjerg.

It is easy to get to work – no matter where you live. From City Hall Square there is only an 11-minute bike ride to Bispebjerg/Nørrebro and 15 minutes to Amager and Valby – we match your preferences with the areas that suit you best. Just indicate in the questionnaire where you would like to work.

We have divided the home care for citizens over 65 years into five areas , which together support all older Copenhagen residents who need help for shorter or longer periods of their lives. In the questionnaire you can choose which areas you want to apply to. You have a greater chance of being invited to an interview if you apply to several places in the city.

The Social Home Care

The Social Home Care is for citizens between 18 and 65 years who live with mental illness, disability and/or substance abuse, and who need support to manage everyday life in their own home. The relationship with the citizen is an important part of the task, and we meet everyone with respect, equality and dialogue.

Our primary task is to help citizens create a good life by giving them the opportunity to develop their own resources to live a satisfying and meaningful everyday life.

The Social Home Care covers the entire Copenhagen and is organized in Center North and Center South. This means that we can be close to the citizens and minimize travel time between visits.

Center North is located at Vibevej 9, 2400 Copenhagen NV. Center South has addresses at Radisevej 6, 2300 Copenhagen S and Enghavevej 82 C, 2450 Copenhagen SV.

There are few positions in nursing homes, and you may therefore be asked if you are interested in applying to home care if there is no nursing home position that matches your wishes.

Employment terms

You will be hired under the applicable collective agreement, and your salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

In connection with the employment, we will obtain references, a criminal record check, and a child protection certificate where relevant.

If you are being considered for a position in the municipality, we will check whether you have been dismissed or terminated from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information about this with the hiring manager. It may also include information about criminal offences leading to termination or dismissal from Copenhagen Municipality, information about substance abuse such as a positive alcohol test or information about medical history that may have significant implications for a new employment with the municipality.  Read more here .
