About the job

About Thorupgården and our organization

Thorupgården is a social-psychiatric residential care facility in Nørrebro, Copenhagen Municipality. We offer places under the Danish Service Act § 107 and § 108. In the coming years, § 108 places will be phased out gradually, which means fewer care tasks and an increased focus on other social work interventions. Across the house, we work recovery-oriented with a focus on well-being, development and support for everyday life management. The tasks include relationship work, coordination of clients' pathways and interdisciplinary collaboration with both internal and external partners.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team with both social and health care professionals, where collaboration, professional reflection and shared responsibility are central.

We are seeking a social-professional contact person for area 3, where there live young and older citizens with psychiatric challenges and many with concurrent use of substances.

Our professional approaches

We work rehabilitatively and recovery-oriented as well as with TBT and have a focus on subjectively experienced quality of life during the stay at Thorupgården. The goal is to support the individual to live a more independent life and help as many as possible move on to housing with less support and to be part of civil society.

Therefore it is important that we are constantly up-to-date with the latest knowledge and can adjust our efforts to citizens' life situations, the zone of proximal development, needs and wishes.

What a day might look like

As a contact person at Thorupgården you work closely with citizens with complex mental health and social challenges. You support the individual citizen's well-being, development and path to greater independence through relationship work, coordination and professional interventions. At the same time you manage to maintain overview, balance care with clarity and navigate a daily life characterized by changing needs.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to

  • have the overall responsibility for your own clients' journeys – including drafting, follow-up and adjustment of individual plans
  • provide daily social-pedagogical and practical support – e.g., personal care, structure, finances and participation in activities
  • support citizens' recovery and development toward a more independent life
  • ensure correct and professionally qualified documentation and ongoing evaluation of the work
  • coordinate and collaborate with relatives, authorities and external partners
  • contribute actively to daily operations, including medication management, activities and a well-functioning multidisciplinary collaboration

We imagine that you

  • have a pedagogical education as a pedagogue, social worker or special educator
  • preferably have experience from social psychiatry or a comparable field
  • are professionally grounded and actively contribute to the overall staff group
  • are curious about your own practice and open to ongoing reflection and evaluation
  • are motivated by working closely with citizens on their wishes and dreams for a good life
  • thrive in a daily life with complexity and see it as an opportunity for professional development
  • are able to maintain hope and mood in everyday life and can think creatively while keeping your professional approach as the focal point of your work

We offer

Thorupgården, as an institution, has a high level of ambition in working with the core task of the residential facility for the benefit of citizens, staff and management. With us you therefore get

  • a professionally ambitious environment with a focus on collaboration with citizens, colleagues, management and the coordination team
  • a working environment characterized by curiosity, openness and good humor
  • ongoing supervision
  • competence development and courses e.g., NADA, TBT, LA2, medication management, recovery and rehabilitation, etc.

There is also free parking in a locked basement and the possibility to train during working hours in a newly built training room.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a full-time role starting on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Working hours are during day and evening shifts with a weekend duty every 3rd weekend. This is a maternity leave replacement of one year, but with good possibility of extension.

Salary and employment terms are governed by the applicable collective agreement and within the frameworks of local salary setting. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check and references.
