About the job

Would you like to be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary colleague group, where good patient pathways and a good working environment are in focus?

School-age Children Team 2, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, Skejby, is seeking a social worker temporary employee for our outpatient clinic.

The position is full-time and to be filled from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter and for 1 year ahead.

The meeting time is as a rule 8:00-15:30, but there is flexibility.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a rapidly growing area with a high political focus and increasing demand for assessment and treatment.

Psychiatric Clinic for School-age Children Team 2 assesses and treats children aged 8-13 years and consists of 2 clinics with joint leadership, one located in Gødstrup and the other in Skejby.

Team 2 has around 70 employees with various professional backgrounds including doctors, psychologists, nurses, pedagogues, and social workers.

As a social worker in Team 2 you will be the one of two social workers who collaborate closely and have a high degree of joint task solving and distribution.

Our one social worker is going on maternity leave, therefore we now have a vacant position for 1 year.

As a social worker in BUA there is a particular focus on uncovering the social, familial, and pedagogical aspects that influence the child’s psychiatric symptoms. Your task will be, in collaboration with the other professionals, to see the whole picture of the child’s social problems.

The social worker has an important role in communicating the child’s support needs regarding psychiatric diagnoses to the primary region based on the assessment process and with reference to relevant legislation. In connection with assessment and treatment, there may be a need to establish close contact with other authorities in order to obtain relevant support. This may be in the form of notifications, telephone contact, network meetings, status certificates, etc.

As a social worker in Team 2 you will have an important role as coordinator and point of contact in the treatment processes for children with complex psychiatric and/or family-related issues, but all patients have a therapist in the psychology, medical, or nursing groups.

The social worker in psychiatry does not have authority to initiate support via the Child Act.

In addition, social workers provide advice and guidance to colleagues in both Skejby and Gødstrup regarding social and legal questions.

As a temporary employee you will be required to handle parts of the tasks depending on your competencies.

Qualifications

  • broad knowledge of relevant legislation and support measures
  • minimum 3 years of experience from authorities or other experience from the administration
  • ability and willingness to participate in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • good coordination skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • holistic approach to the individual family, both mono- and multi-disciplinary.

We offer

  • an exciting and challenging temporary position among skilled, experienced colleagues in a multidisciplinary team
  • a high professional level
  • management focus on a good working environment and resources
  • supervision
  • mentoring by an experienced social worker.

Further information can be obtained by contacting social worker Mette Thomasen on tel. 2381 8546 or Chief Physician Tine Mejer on tel. 2367 3620.

The application deadline is October 25, 2026. Interviews will be held on November 3, 2026.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child and criminal record check.

In the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry we place a high priority on employee safety. All employees will undergo training in de-escalation, which must be maintained according to current guidelines.

All employees must be able to apply de-escalation methods in required situations and, depending on the placement, must also be able to perform the role of alarm runner on an alarm team. Parts of our security measures cross the pediatric and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, such as cross-department alarm teams, and are therefore solved in collaboration with staff from adult psychiatric departments.
