Welcome to Oasen

At Oasen we offer 11 citizens aged 22 to 45 a structured daily routine. We work with Sensory Integration, KRAP and a neuro-pedagogical approach as a framework for understanding. We emphasize predictability and recognizability and see these as essential factors for the citizens’ well-being.

In daily life we have an eye for individual solutions and approaches to each citizen, while we also focus on social interaction when it makes sense for the individual.

To meet the citizens' needs we work with the concepts of high– and low arousal. There is high complexity in the work, as the citizens' challenges and support needs vary greatly.

The daily organization means that specific citizens receive a specially tailored offer; engaging in this structure is a significant part of the work at Oasen.

That calls for us to be clear in our communication both in relation to the citizens and in our professional collaboration with each other. The citizens at Oasen have a large need for a professional social-pedagogical intervention from permanent staff who provide security and predictability.

Most of the citizens are mobile, but some citizens need a wheelchair for outings. All citizens need support and help with communication and personal care. Some citizens use spoken language, but the majority use non-verbal communication, and we use, among other things, Sign to Speak and visual communication, for example in the form of pictograms.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Is professionally well-founded and preferably with experience with the target group
• Has great patience, can create calm in interaction and presence with the citizens, who at times can have inappropriate coping strategies.
• Is able to maintain an overview and calm when everyday life presents something other than what we have planned .
• Thrives in chaos and can maintain the structure when unforeseen changes occur
• Is personally and professionally strong in the structure that everyday life at Oasen requires.
• Has good energy, can initiate activities and see them through.
• Has flair for working with high/low arousal as well as conflict management and prevention.
• Values collaboration highly and takes responsibility for joint decisions in the team.
• Feels comfortable with written work.
• Can see yourself participating in tasks related to personal care.
