Social worker sought for maternity leave cover at Børnehus Sjælland – Roskilde department

Børnehus Sjælland in the Roskilde department is seeking a social worker for a maternity leave cover. The period runs from January 1 to October 31, 2027, and the hourly rate is 32-37 hours per week.

Who are we

Børnehus Sjælland was established in connection with the introduction of the Abuse Package, which took effect in October 2013. It is Børnehus Sjælland’s task to ensure a coordinated and gentle interdisciplinary high-quality effort in cases where there is knowledge or suspicion of violence or sexual abuse against children aged 0-18 years. The goal of the effort is that the child/young person receives the right support and help and has a better opportunity to move on after the abuse or the suspicion thereof.

Børnehus Sjælland has since 1 April 2023 had two departments – 1 department in Næstved and 1 department in Roskilde. The position is to be filled in Roskilde.

As a social worker in Børnehus Sjælland you will have the opportunity to

• provide counseling, guidance and professional sparring to the other sectors involved in the assessment of potential abuse against the child, whether it be municipality, police and/or health services
• coordinate and organize assessment processes
• conduct assessment interviews with the child’s closest caregivers
• conduct short crisis intervention processes with the child’s closest caregivers
• serve as meeting chair at cross-sectoral case councils
• engage in close interdisciplinary collaboration with psychologists
• participate in video interviews
• contribute a social-work perspective in closing notes to the municipalities
• contribute to the children’s house functioning as a knowledge center within abuse

Our wishes for our future colleagues

• You are a trained social worker/mediator with several years of experience, and have a really good command of the legislation in the area.
• You have experience with vulnerable children and families, and preferably experience with children and young people exposed to violence and/or abuse.
• It is an advantage if you have experience with crisis interviews and can accommodate and meet children and families who are in difficult and vulnerable life situations.
• You can communicate with many kinds of people.
• You have good familiarity with investigative work and handling of acute processes.
• You are development-oriented and have the ability to help build a highly specialized professional unit.
• You can work independently and efficiently in a varied everyday life.
• You are eager to be part of an organization in continuous development.

In the Roskilde department we service the 10 municipalities that fall under the Mid and West Zealand police district and are currently staffed with 9 social workers, 17 psychologists, 1 department head, 1 receptionist and 1 administrative employee.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the Danish Association of Social Workers.
