About the job

The Family Department is seeking two authority advisors for our preventive teams.

Do you dream of being part of a strong professional and collegial community, where the focus is on working together with children, adolescents, parents and partners to make the necessary difference for the vulnerable children and young people in Frederiksberg Municipality? And would you like to be part of a Family Department that is well underway in translating the intentions of the Child's Act with a particular focus on involving the children and the voice of the young people – then you might be the one we are looking for?

We can offer

  • Mentoring program and thorough introduction to the area
  • A Family Department that is committed to supporting the advisers professionally, legally and methodically with a focus on quality development and learning
  • A meaningful job with a high degree of influence and responsibility
  • A good working environment and a strong sense of community with good colleagues and accessible management
  • Regular case reviews with a professional coordinator and a manager with a focus on sparring and professional support
  • Supervision by an external psychologist and a focus on competence development
  • A close interdisciplinary collaboration between the Family Department and the other actors within the children and youth sector
  • Flexible working hours arrangement and the possibility of home office days
  • Possibility of access to training facilities and a canteen arrangement
  • Possibility of a DSB commuter card and a parking permit for commuters

A newer colleague in the preventive team writes about starting with us

“I have been incredibly happy with my first period at Frederiksberg Family Department, as everyone in my team has been good at bringing me into things both professionally and socially. A sense of security for me in the startup period has been that I had an introductory program to lean on, as well as a mentor who has continually reached out and followed up with me, both socially and professionally.

When I started, it was nice that I did not start with a full caseload, despite experience. It gave me the opportunity to dive into the cases while settling into a new workplace.

I have experienced colleagues with high professional expertise and a desire to be united in the task of supporting children, adolescents and families in vulnerable positions in Frederiksberg Municipality. There is ample opportunity to develop one's professional competencies and together become wiser colleagues among ourselves.”

A little about us in the Family Department

The Family Department in Frederiksberg Municipality is engaged in an important and demanding task, focusing on strengthening the quality of authority casework, involving children, youths and networks, early detection and cross-professional collaboration. We are in the process of translating the Child’s Act with the requirements it places on our competencies regarding involvement of children and youths and the way we understand the authority task.

We see ourselves as a well-functioning Family Department where the driving force in collaboration and job satisfaction primarily springs from our shared ambition to make a difference for vulnerable children and youths in Frederiksberg.

The Family Department consists of three prevention teams, a care team, and a specialist advisory unit that is responsible for cases involving disability-supportive services. In total, we are about 100 employees in the department.

In connection with an increasing case load and expansion of child and youth advisers, we have decided to adjust our organization so that, as of 01.10.26, we have established the third preventive team. This is to ensure that all employees have access to close professional and personnel leadership and that the management can support wellbeing and high quality in authority work. You will therefore become part of the new preventive team, which is currently consolidating and establishing a new team culture. Therefore it is important that you as a person are curious and willing to contribute to establishing a new team.

All preventive teams will eventually consist of about 14 advisers, each assigned a professional coordinator and a section leader. A hallmark of all teams is that they are composed of both experienced and less experienced advisers who, in a busy everyday life, are good at helping one another, where professionalism and good mood are at the top of the agenda.

As an adviser in a preventive team you will be responsible for approximately 25 children and youth cases, where you will work in the cases from receipt of the referral to the preparation of a mapping or child welfare assessment, as well as the initiation and follow-up of supportive interventions.

You will as an adviser in a preventive team also participate in our reception duty function, which is rotated among the three preventive teams, where the main task is assessment and screening of all incoming referrals and handling of new cases that require urgent action. The methodological foundation for case processing is ICS and Signs of Safety (SOS), which we use systematically in our work with cases.

About you

We are looking for colleagues who are trained social workers or social educators, and who are passionate about working with vulnerable children and youths - both regarding the part of the authority task that concerns direct contact with children and youths and the part that concerns rights protection and documentation. It is advantageous if you have experience, but it is not a prerequisite.

We attach great importance to your commitment to developing the quality of social work, being able to work in a structured and systematic way in accordance with the Child’s Act, being solution-oriented in cooperation with the family and the child/youth, and being able to communicate clearly and inclusively in both speech and writing. If you are familiar with the ICS method, Signs of Safety (SOS) and the professional system DUBU, that is an advantage, but otherwise you will naturally receive the necessary training.

If you are considering being part of our strong working community, you are very welcome to contact section leader Mikkel Lindegaard, tel. 2898 3441.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are negotiated according to the principles of New Pay. In addition to the salary scale placement, a child and youth allowance is provided, amounting to approximately DKK 2,500 per month.

Please note that criminal and child protection checks will be conducted prior to employment. Working hours are 37 hours per week with a flexible hours arrangement. It is a permanent position.

Application deadline and interviews

The application deadline is Wednesday, 18 November 2026 at 08:00.

We expect to conduct interviews on Tuesday, 24 November 2026 . You will be invited to interview no later than Friday, 20 November 2026. It may be necessary to invite candidates on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to send your application.

The positions are expected to be filled on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.
