About the job

Would you like to help create stronger opportunities for children, young people and families? We are seeking new child and youth advisers for the Family Department in Lejre Municipality

More colleagues. More room for professional expertise. And a shared ambition to make a difference together with children, young people and families.

In Lejre Municipality, the municipal council has decided to strengthen the Family Department with more advisor resources. This gives us the opportunity to expand our professional community and continue with what matters most: timely help, proper case handling and close collaboration with the families.

We are seeking four new colleagues: two for the Special Team and two for the Social and Placement Team. Here you will be part of a workplace where we take professionalism, legal certainty and one another seriously.

Collaboration with the families – not about them We believe that the best solutions are created together with the people they concern. Therefore, the voices of the children and young people and the family’s own perspectives are a central part of our work. You will have the opportunity to use your professional skills in close collaboration with parents, networks, colleagues and partners – even when tasks are complex.

Which team will you be part of? The Social- and Placement Team works with statutory tasks under the Children's Act, including screening, assessment, child welfare studies, supportive interventions and placements. Here we follow children, young people and families through processes where relationships, professional assessments and continuity are crucial.

The Special Team works with statutory tasks for children and young people with disabilities and their families. The tasks include, among other things, compensation-eligible benefits, lost earning capacity, relief and respite, special day and club offerings, home training and preventive interventions. We use Kommuneberegner for calculating lost earning potential, and of course you will receive training in the tool.

Across the teams we work on involving children and young people, follow-up, interdisciplinary coordination and professionally grounded decisions. You also participate in day shifts, where we perform 24-hour assessments and handle acute inquiries.

What you can look forward to

  • A thorough introduction and a mentor who helps you settle in well from the start.
  • Professional sparring, social-legal assistance and external supervision.
  • Dedicated colleagues who share knowledge, help each other and also have room for humor.
  • Flexible working hours and the option for home-based work.
  • A present leadership with a focus on both professional quality, well-being and development.
  • Opportunity to shape an organization that is working to strengthen the link between early intervention, authority and service delivery.

We imagine that you …

  • are a trained social worker or social facilitator – you may be a recent graduate.
  • are curious about the children and youth area and want to develop your professional expertise.
  • can build trusting relationships and collaborate with both families and professionals.
  • work in a structured way, communicate clearly and can make well-founded decisions.
  • are willing to seek sparring and contribute actively to a good collegial community.
  • have a driving license.

You do not need to know it all in advance. The most important thing is that you have a strong professional engagement and a desire to learn together with us.

Part of a larger community You will become part of the Family Department in the Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention (CFU). The center brings together the Family Department, the Youth Department and the Health and Early Intervention Department. In the Family Department, statutory advisors work closely with, among others, the Family House and the early detection team. Our ambition is that children and families experience coherence – not organizational barriers.

The authority area in the Family Department is organized into the Social- and Placement Team and the Special Team. We work closely across teams and share a common direction for the quality of our work.

Practical information For all four positions the following applies

  • Start date: January 1, 2027.
  • First interview: November 23, 2026 (we have set up two recruitment committees)
  • Second interview: November 26, 2026.
  • Salary according to current collective agreement. Pay grade for new graduates: Grade 38. For experienced advisers, placement is according to experience and competencies.

Would you like to hear more? You are very welcome to contact Department Manager Camilla Lentz at 24 65 94 07 or Team Leader for the Special Team Melanie Bruun Jacobsen at 24 75 40 30.

We look forward to hearing from you!
